What a fantastic site this is for all the community - local, state,
national and international. The organisers have proven themselves year
after year to be professionals and considerate to all people involved
in the festivals to ensure the least impact on the environment and
surrounds. Very innovative in their planning and transparent in all
that they do.

I fully support the Byron North Parklands. They have created a low impact
environment for artists and the community to share for the benefit of
all. It is very difficult to find a space which offers such natural
beauty. I believe the owners/organisers of the events held there are
very respectful of the natural elements surrounding and including the
site. Yes it may impact on local fauna, but the impacts are minimized
and well managed. I haven't seen another site like it that is so
complimentary to the native flora and fauna.

Brunswick Valley Landcare Inc (BVL) has been the recipient of funds from
the Nth Byron Parklands Community Grants Programme. At a time when
sourcing funds is challenging, the Community Programme has assisted
BVL's ability to support the wider Byron Shire community in natural
resource management, education and on-ground projects within the
Shire. BVL is also involved with Nth Byron Parklands in environmental
awareness and learning programmes aimed at schools in the local
region.

ChronoSoft Solutions supports the permanency on the North Byron
Parklands. Having worked directly with NBP, Splendour in the Grass and
The Falls Festival, we have seen the commitment they have towards
supporting the local community, their response to residents concerns
and the mitigation and effort they have put in to control these
issues. ChronoSoft recognises the economic and cultural benefits that
the parklands and hosted events continue to offer to provide to the
Byron and surrounding shires.

Great idea to have this as a permanent site for festivals and concerts.

I would like the free ticket compensation to be rolled out to a wider
radius that includes Burringbar and Mooball as these residents are
also significantly impacted by noise as well as the increase in
traffic and population. Also, how can the distribution model for these
tickets be improved to better ensure they're actually been used? I
suggest an on-line request system for residents wanting tickets, and
if demand exceed supply, make more tickets available. This would be a
much appreciated good-will gesture for all such residents who have
been generally good natured and tolerant of this proposal. I would
also like a local's accommodation page set up. The rainforest
hinterland dwellings such as Burringbar and Mooball are fantastic and
could be used for artists, managers, event organisers and others that
want proximity, tranquility and beauty. It would also make the locals
happy :)

Its traditional for so many people to go to North Byron Parklands to
enjoy festivals - it is a perfect location and run so well

Dear Sir/madam I object to the trial site for festivals at North Byron
Parklands being made permanent as the area is quiet with few access
roads. The residents and wildlife in the area suffer from noisy
invasive events, while other venues are more suitable, like the Blues
Fest site at Tyagarah. Byron Shire Council should be in control as the
decision-maker in consultation with Tweed Council. The state should
not impose this development on the Byron/Tweed area. In fact, the
State should be helping the promoters find a more suitable location
for a festival site. Trial approval has brought tens of thousands of
festival-goers to an area without safe evacuation prospects, causing
problems with noise, traffic, illegal camping, pollution, and
increased fire and flood risks. Permanent approval will make these
issues permanent and more serious as the size, number, and duration of
festivals increase. The ecological impacts on the nearby Nature
Reserve and Wildlife Corridor have not been properly assessed by the
developers, the state, or local council. Wildlife has nowhere to go.
The key events staged at Parklands (Splendour in the Grass and Falls
Festival) are now 51% owned by Live Nation, a U.S. conglomerate known
for its aggressive expansion in the entertainment industry. Approval
of this development will profit Live Nation, whilst local residents
put up with the inconveniences and risks. It is hard to get people in
to object to festivals . Music festivals maybe fun and we think of
these as relatively harmless, but they should be contained and
restricted to areas where the amenities/roads are suitable. This
proposal continues the "Profit before all else" mantra. Regards Carol

My family, love the festivals at North Byron Parklands. We attend
Splendour with my teenage children every year and enjoy the
international and local music. We feel so lucky to have such organised
and extravagant festival sites so close to our door step. Thanks to
the organisers for being so environmentally conscious of our beautiful
area. BRING ON THE MUSIC

As long time residents of Yelgun (my husband grew up farming in the
valley), we think that North Byron Parklands are a great addition to
our local area. The jobs that are created and the money that is
injected into the local communities are of great benefit. Most people
that come to Byron Shire only ever visit Byron Bay and by creating a
festival site out of Byron, more businesses and people benefit from
this. We have never had an issue with Parklands. They donate to local
schools, including our children's school, to community groups and
various others. we have never had any complaints about noise, the
festivals are only short and we live with daily highway noise, that is
always louder then the festivals. Aside from traffic issues in the
first year, we are not inconvienced at all and are truly compensated
with the offer of free tickets to the events. We would like to wish
Parklands good luck with the proposal to stay.

To whom it may concern, To date I have written a number of submissions
and will continue to write a number more if it will support this
proposals approval. When you believe in and value something enough,
supporting it becomes easy, especially in cases such as Parklands
where those involved have been working so hard for so long to gain
permanent approval. Again may I reiterate, Byron Parklands has and
continues to provide a beautiful venue for events large and small to
take place for all of us to enjoy and benefit from. As a local
resident, I love the fact that we can experience some of the finest
entertainment in the world locally and love the fact that work and
many other opportunities have been and continue to be created through
what Parklands provides. Parklands is exactly what its name implies, a
large area of land that as a result of the care, commitment and I can
only imagine huge expense that the owners have invested, has been
transformed into a beautiful treed and landscaped park. I praise the
work that has been undertaken and love what I hear regarding the
vision that Parklands has for the future. The opportunity and
diversity of events that can truly allow for the realisation of
Parklands potential, can only come through approval of this
submission. From following Parklands from its opening and reading many
articles in the press, it seems that Parklands have worked extremely
hard to address those individual and community concerns that have been
raised. I know that from my conversations with many in the community,
that many who may have had initial concerns with Parklands now would
be devastated on many fronts to see it go. Parklands is now an
integral and valued park that provides a valued and very beautiful
place for so many of us to enjoy and utilise. I fully support
permanent approval being granted. Regards

I would love North Byron Parklands to be able to hold festivals
indefinitely at their site. Its a well planned and designed facility
with great access and a low carbon footprint. The site feels spacious
and safe and it has been beautifully transformed from the failed
farmland it was into beautiful parklands. We absolutely need a venue
to hold great arts festivals like Splendour and Falls in our region,
these events are part of the fabric of our society, its where memories
are made, its whats life is really about. If we can't have them here,
in the perfect location, where will they go? Will they disappear? Is
that the bland future we want for our country and our children?

It has proven to be a great venue to see performing artists - in line
with the best festivals around the world. Having Parklands as a home
for events such as SITG provides the Byron area substantial economic
and social benefits. Festivals at Parklands promote and attract
tourism to both the Byron Shire and throughout the surrounding areas.
It also generates employment opportunities

I am from Japan which is a country that loves festivals, both small and
large. As a culture we share so much on special days where we can
listen to music and meet our friends and also others who are like
minded. Now I am an Australian resident and have lived here for over
fifteen years. What I loved about Byron Shire when I first came here
was the diversity of events. Some cultural, some musical, some even
political and environmental. This area is a truly special place where
special events that allow people to share and join together happen.
Such places are like the fabric that form the glue that helps social
cohesion. Beyond this, jobs and other very important opportunities are
created. Byron Parklands is such a lovely place. An old farm, that I
remember driving past so often, which always looked very tired is now
looking so beautiful and fresh. So much work has been done. So many
people love Parklands. I fully support this submission for permanent
approval because, we need such places for all in our community to be
able to congregate and we need the opportunities for local residents
that Parklands brings. Thank you

I've lived in this area for the last 11 years and I've attended SITG and
Falls Fest for the last 6 years running. I'm in love with the nature
and specialness of the Byron Shire and I'm raising my three children
here amongst it. I feel blessed that I can attend internationally
acclaimed festivals right on my doorstep and I've taken each of my
children along to one night of SITG every year. It's important for me
that they can have the exposure to a safe music to learn the 'ropes'
under my guidance and being so close to home is such a bonus. I enjoy
seeing the crowds of punters teeming with excitement whilst they enjoy
this special place and as a local business owner I also am positively
impacted by the influx of attendees. I support this festival space
wholeheartedly and to the opposers, I say this: "weren't you excited
when you first laid eyes on this special part of the world and did you
not also revel in the joy that you were able to be partake in the
culture and wonder of it all?" After all, at some point or another we
locals have all wanted to feel included, to stay and to eek out a
slice for ourselves. We cannot be so egotistical or selfish as to try
and block others' desires to do the same.

I have lived in Crabbes Creek for over 11 years and I have seen the
traffic effects from the site's use. While I support the use of the
site for cultural events I do think traffic issues need to be solved.
There needs to be a thru-lane going toward Murwillumbah to allow for
through traffic and a lane for queuing traffic to enter the site or an
overpass into the site. An over pass would also allow a through lane
for traffic going towards Yelgun/Ocean Shores and additional land for
car going into the site. These traffic solutions are going to be
needed if the size of the events is allowed to be 50000 patrons. That
is a lot of traffic. You could also have an over pass from the Pacific
Highway that is only used for the Splendour in the grass site. This
depends on which direction most traffic arrives and if people were
encouraged to use the Pacific Highway to access the site. Also traffic
solutions might need to be implemented for the exit and entry points
onto the Pacific Highway at Yelgun, as there needs to be additional
lanes. The site should also have a few free events to benefit the
community and provide financial support for variety of community
events.

Dear Minister for Planning I would like to voice my support for the state
significant Development Application for the North Byron Parklands
Cultural Events site. I am a local resident in the Byron Shire, living
in Suffolk Park. I run a small business and care for two young
children, one of whom is in primary school. What drew us to live in
this area was the lifestyle and the environment with both the beach
and hinterland on our doorstep. We feel very lucky to live in such a
vibrant community and beautiful place. One of the things that makes
this area special is that it offers people both a naturally beautiful
place to visit, but also one that is rich in culture with its vibrant
arts and music as well as food scene. I have been going to Falls
Festival and Splendour for some time, and have to say that the site
has undergone a transformation in the last five years. I think it is
the best festival venue in Australia. It is a unique environment which
combines both a wonderful natural space with excellent facilities. Its
sustainable practices put other festivals to shame. I love that
they've got composting toilets in place just like many national parks
as well as recycling and other things in place to minimise waste. This
fits with our Byron shire values. I am also really impressed with the
transport - most festivals I've been too it's been a nightmare to get
there and then leave. But it was amazingly easy this year. I know
they've put a lot of effort into this and it shows. I would be very
concerned if the approval for the site didn't go ahead. I know it
brings in a huge amount of money to Byron shire - a small regional
area, and provides for lots of local jobs. We have trouble with
growing our local regional economies, and if we lose two large events
from our events calendar (the other big festival event is the Blues
Fest around Easter), it will have a big impact on our local economy. I
want to make sure that there are opportunities for our children in the
future. I am already concerned about employment opportunities for my
children as there is such high youth unemployment here. Losing such
big events will only reduce youth employment opportunities forcing
many young people and possibly families to leave. Please keep this
fantastic site open and available to these wonderful festivals. Keep
the Byron shire magic alive! [REDACTED]

Our Tidy Town Team has worked alongside the North Byron Parkland crews
who have worked very hard to enhance, protect and re-afforest this
degraded farmland, and restore it to a beautiful. natural pristine
space for cultural and community events. We've spoken to many of the
local patrons and those who come from across Australia and the world
to visit this amazing venue, and patrons and workers at these events
applaud the inclusive management style that is becoming well known
across the world. Our Team applauds them for their care of their
environment and their recycling and waste management practices that
teach young people how to protect and restore their natural
environment. Without Splendour's support, we would not have all the
tools we need for regular Landcare work in our local Reserves. Without
the right tools, our voluntary job becomes a lot harder. In fact,
their donations to many community groups each year often makes the
difference to whether some sports or community groups survive and
grow. NBP is one of very few event managers who financially support
their local community from their profits. They continue to provide
their patrons with solar powered showers and compost toilets, and
state of the art temporary technological infrastrucure, and a
permanent venue for School events, film festivals, wellness and eco
expos as well as Splendour and Falls Festival music events would
further assist our local economy and expand work opportunities too.
NBP have had to comply with hundreds of conditions set by our local
Council that no other venue has been bound by, but they continue to
manage sound, traffic, transport, camping, environment, infrastructure
and safety conditions to a high standard, and they have earned their
forever home through sheer dedication and care. We support NBP because
they have set the standard that other local event sites need to follow
to be sustainable.
