This proposed mine is too close to town, the environment will be destroyed.`

As a concerned resident raising young children locally we oppose this mine due to health risks, proximity to town and lack of support for coal generally in the community.

It is ludicrous to even consider this project. Our world cannot cope with any more resource mining, if we hope to survive on this planet. Stop being guided by greed and consider a renewable future.

On top of all the above, I wish to point out that any soil and habitat destroyed by this extension CANNOT be returned to its former state, regardless of the restitution measures which may be required. The original soil is irreplaceable in terms of its biota.

Australia is in danger of losing all its most fertile top soil in the interests of short term profit. Mining only seems to be in the coastal fertile areas, not in the areas with scarce top soil. How unfortunate for our population - which has to eat!
