Submission objecting to the Tilbuster 2 Solar Farm (T2SF) Project being granted a planning permit or in any way proceeding to construction.
1. The Tilbuster 2 Solar Farm is purely being built in order to meet Net Zero requirements. The Solar Farm is only able, (because of a shortage of weather fuel, sunshine) to operate for a maximum of eight hours a day (33%) and because of clouds and rain, the solar industry only averages six hours a day or 25% of each day. If it was not subsidised, investors would never consider it as a worthwhile investment.
This statement alone clearly sets out. That by its intermittent and unreliable nature of electricity production, (because of an unreliable supply of ‘weather’ fuel). The T2SF should never, ever be considered as an economic or dependable electricity generator for supplying baseload electricity to a modern electricity grid.
2. The T2SF will permanently pollute the farmland it is on, and the agricultural production will be lost each year for the next 100 years or more. Note: At present the T2SF land is producing each year, a good amount of agricultural produce, that economically benefits the farmer, surrounding towns, cities and eventually Australia with economic stimulation and jobs. As previously stated this will be a very large negative against the T2SF forever.
3. The T2SF does nothing to reduce the World’s emissions. This is because all the Federal and State Net Zero emission goals, Emission Reduction goals and Carbon emission limits on big polluters, are all a waste of money, effort, and will not reduce Global emissions by one iota. The reason is that while Australia’s emissions of Co2 are approximately 1.3% of the World’s emissions at the same time China emits 30% of the World’s emissions and is still growing. Any reduction in Australia’s emissions will be quickly replaced by China’s emissions.
4. The T2SF is totally reliant on Climate Change subsidies and mandated energy retailer policies, without which it would never be built. Or if the subsidies, etc are removed this T2SF will be abandoned. Further if the T2SF cannot afford the cost of building the HV Transmission necessary to connect to the Grid. It is ridiculous for electricity consumers and taxpayers to have to pay for the connecting HV Transmission Lines.
6. Importantly this T2SF has not made adequate provision for the outbreak of a wildfire. Firebreaks are grossly inadequate and fixed water tanks are next to useless. In Victoria CFA fire fighters are refusing to enter Renewable Factories. Water bombers would not water bomb the T2SF because of the risk of explosions The risk to surrounding rural residents is frightening.
5. As well the T2SF has made no financial provision for the dismantling and restoration of the site. Or the cost of the disposal of the toxic, batteries and associated toxic junk.
This is why the Tilbuster 2 Solar Farm is not a net contributor to the electricity generation system or a viable economic proposition and should never be built.

As this anti Australian, CCP Reliant, insecure, industrialised Solar & BESS is weather-dependent by nature, no amount of spin changes the fact it cannot EVER provide consistent, on-demand baseload power.

I OBJECT because not only are panels coated with forever chemicals (and we are being lied to sometimes by companies who say they are using panels without it, but are using PFAS coating), they will contaminate the soil and underground water, not to mention the sheep grazing under it, or whatever crops are grown under them.

This will get into humans via the food chain and even bottled water drawn from poisoned acquifers and as forever chemicals are known to be carcinogenic and cause other health problems, we have nothing to look forward to as a nation for these structures that do not work when there is no sun, are intermittent and unreliable, inefficient and uneconomic.

Mostly the components for Battery systems and solar infrastructure are made in China, and in America it’s just been discovered that the CCP has “kill switches” in componentry, which means we have a HUGE NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE which cannot be underestimated. We do not need another country being able to turn off our power grid.

OBJECTION:

I object to industrial solar factories and BESS’s being spread all over Australian territory to visually ruin, and actually poison or set fire to the countryside, when they are NOT even able to provide stable base-line power, nor will they lower our power bills, as we have been continually lied to about.

Despite some Purveyors of Toxic Poisons - PTP’s claiming they only use Tier 1 panels that don’t have PFAS or PFOS in them, there is good evidence that they are cheating, and advertising they’re tier one, but they are the ones using Uyghur slave labour to build them.

PFAS and PFOS are banned in Australia from next month, and it is a condition that slave labour is NOT used in componentry of solar panels, and yet, here we are, ignoring BOTH.

The PPT’s - Poison Polluting Toxins - from these solar suckers are now being promoted as being OK to graze sheep under because there is a “drip-line” of moisture watering the ground around them. We can look forward to PFAS/PFOS PPT’s (Poison Polluting Toxins) in our food supply, in our water supplies, in the great artesian basin, and affecting our health, livestock health, soil health etc. This is NOT safe. What bonds are being taken to offset this PPT damage?

The foreign manufacturing and ownership, particulalry by Chinese companies which have some CCP ownership, is a matter of National Security for Australia.

Our power grid is being set up so as not bo be SECURE by any means. Reuters in May reported that China has a kill-switch embedded into Chinese manufactured components, that sensors have been discovered in solar panels and power transformers etc, which would allow the CCP to shut down the whole grid remotely.

This is a matter of NATIONAL SECURITY particularly in light of current world events and instability. We CANNOT have such heavy foreign ownership – and control – of our power grid.

Nobody is giving consideration to the masses of Ruin-a-Bull establishments beside each other, as they are being “approved” on a one by one basis, without considering the CUMULATIVE effect they will have on areas, particularly rural areas. The infrastructure and ability of Rural Fire Brigades to handle fires as a resault of these Ruin-a-Bulls going up in flames is only being considered in light of ONE, ie the one being considered, rather than the WHOLE BANG LOT WHEN THEY ARE JOINED TOGETHER.

What annual subscriptions are being mandated towards local RFS brigades? What bonds are being taken to offset fire risks, especially when fires rage across many properties? There needs to be at least $1b taken in bonds up front, because not even that will pay for damages done, especially over time, with the risks to human and livestock health, and poisoning of soils and water. These will be huge FUTURE COSTS, and anyone with concerns about this is just being bulldozed over.

On no account should these go ahead, unless a hefty BOND is taken – and I’m talking $1b per Ruin-a-bull establishment, because the future payouts are going to be phenomenal.

At the moment our governments are wilfully ignoring their own NATIONAL ELECTRICITY RULES, and enabling energy companies to do the same. Currently, you/they are all operating (unlawfully) outside of these rules! The rules state that we must have an energy grid and service that is secure, reliable, safe and affordable.

We don’t have this, and we’ve just been told in a major report that the cost of energy is going up BECAUSE of renewables.

These are enough concerns, but there are many more.
