This project is really nice, I like this idea and support it. The project will see hundreds of millions of dollars spent in regional NSW and wind energy is cheaper than new fossil fuel.

I support this project because wind power is a clean and renewable energy source. Wind is everywhere, it provides electricity without burning any fuel and polluting the environment.

Winterbourne Wind Farm is an amazing step in the right direction towards a better future for us all. It is great to see projects that are slowly moving us away from fossil fuel consumption and toward clean energy production. The climate change signs can be seen all around the world and Australia is no different. The recent floods and bush fires are urgent signs that we must do more to combat climate change. Moreover, wind energy is much cheaper than new fossil fuel generation.

I support the Winterbourne wind farm project rather than electricity generated systems, as this renewable technology has a significantly lower environmental impact, over its life-cycle, compared to fossil fuel systems such as coal (Hertwich et al., 2015). The quantified research and evaluation of this project can contribute as an exemplar for emissions reduction to local stakeholders and State policy development especially as the regulations regarding allowable emissions in Australia get stricter and community knowledge and support gets stronger (Chiang et al., 2016).

With the rising costs of fuel prices, the need to move towards alternative sources of energy in Australia that aren't reliant on imports huge. The passive income for locals, the flourishing of commerce for communities and creation of jobs and opportunities is also super important. Our country needs this. And the Winterbourne project proposes to deliver-

The Winterbourne Wind Farm is a positive contribution to renewable energy in NSW. The turbines are way out of the town of Walcha and have no negative impact on the residents. Windmills have been used historically and extensively in the past. They are a reliable alternative to producing energy and will provide jobs locally. This is the future!

I am fully in favour of having the Wind farm at Walcha as I believe it will be of benefit for the town.
I have seen wind farms in Western Australia and in Europe and Lake George near Canberra. The turbines obviously will cause no problems with interfering with the natural environment. I believe we cannot have coal anymore as far as energy is concerned. The wind turbines will be the ideal means of driving energy in our district, without the climate change consequences of coal burning.

The evidence of climate change is all around us: drought, bushfire, floods, storms, loss of wildlife, rising temperatures, ocean acidification, loss of coral reefs. Wind energy is far cheaper than new fossil fuel generation, with none of the air, water, and land pollution associated with burning coal. NSW goal is to have 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (relative to 2005 levels) and we are nowhere close to that. This project will provide about 3% of the greenhouse gas emissions reduction required to achieve this goal. There is an urgent need to replace aging fossil fuel plants in NSW and Australia, with AEMO forecasting 60% of the existing coal generation will be withdrawn from the energy market by 2030, this will require a staggering buildout of renewables in a very short timeframe. The project will see hundreds of millions of dollars spent in regional NSW, creating jobs and skills for the future economy

Renewable energy is the only future to cut rising fossil fuel cost and pollution.
Australia is rich of wind energy both on and off shore, so this project should be allowed to move forward. It is lack of education for those who against it. However, the big picture is quite clear.

I object to the reliance of wind as a choice of energy, as it is a technology that is already being rejected by large parts of Europe. This is a very permanent structure that could well be outdated in a few short years.
I am concerned about the visual amenity of the project, as it will dominate the skyline of the Walcha environment.
I am concerned about the devaluation of property values in the area, as the visual appeal of the area and other issues related to community disruption impact on buyer interest in the area.
I am concerned about the traffic impact on the roads with respect to road damage, and the necessary roadworks and repairs that will be necessary. I am also concerned about the impact of congestion on all major roads along the proposed traffic route from Bendemeer to Walcha, and through to the project site. In particular, I am worried about the safety and congestion impact on the township of Walcha, as they pass through busy areas of the town. Many of these roads are in fair order, but with light duty pavement that is not made for heavy vehicles. Many of these roads also have limited areas for passing, and will lead to driver frustration and issues with safety.
I am concerned about the decommissioning of these turbines at end of life, and the lack of a bond to ensure that this is carried out.
I don't believe that there is any benefit to the town, and that there are risks of destabilising the community, with the disruption of a 400 strong workforce putting pressure on housing, services and wages, before disappearing at the end of the project.
I believe that this is a poorly located project, in prime agricultural land, and will be a major disruption to the existing grazing industry., as well as the natural beauty of the landscape that will be irreparably changed.

I fully support this project on an environmental ground. After reading much information about this project I can only support it as it will help reduce emissions. What a shame it isn't up an running already !!!
I could go on and on but I am confident that many others would be echoing my thoughts. Onward and upwards Winterbourne wind.

I support the Winterbourne Wind Farm project as I see the need for the urgent transition to renewable power sources to help meet NSW's goal of 50% reduction in greenhouse gasses by 2030. The investment into regional NSW and the hundreds of jobs during construction will also benefit the community and the state immensely. I fully support a project that can supply green electricity to over 375,000 homes.

The developer has failed to adequately inform me a s a member of the Walcha community. I have being intimidated by their drop in consultation approach, whereby they aim to have individual conversations that simply divide and concur. I have remained bemused as to why the developer has not engaged in the community forums that I have attended with the purpose to discuss the winterbourne wind farm.
I object strongly to the development and the effect that it will have on the environment. Walcha is on prime agricultural land, surrounded by world heritage national parks, and we are asked to house 119 (winterbourne wind), and cumulatively 660 230m wind turbines and associated infrastructure. This turns our agricultural town into an industrial energy factory.
As an alternative i propose that the government looks to develop small scale nuclear power to replace the existing coal fire powered generators. The infrastructure used to power the state currently should be used to distribute this power alternative.
I believe that to develop new poles and wire to support the winterbourne wind farm will have effects on biodiversity, health of humans and animals, along with a devaluation of land assets and community.
