Stage 1 Road Project i Support.
From Naree Road to French's Forest Road West, Police should not be allowed to park cars in residents Street in Sylvia Place because not enough Parking Residents already Angry and Upset.
Have Someone from Roads and Maritime Services Speak to Police Station at French's Forest. When Widening Road from Naree Road to French's Forest Road West, big Problem for Residents and Police they use Sylvia Place parking no more room. Put 4 to 6 Lanes Both Sides of Wakehurst Parkway Including Emergency Lanes for Ambulance, Police,Firefighters. How many Meters Widen Road from Naree Road to Frenchs Forest Road West?
Will any Houses be Demolished. Also how much Vegetation is going be removed and trees replanted? Also very important to look after Wildlife.Still No Answer Flooding Wakehurst Parkway.
I Strongly Support Stage 1 Road Project but you need to address the above problems.

From your Community Update flyer Oct 2014 -
Key Features item 2 relating to bus bay fronting Forestway shops.
Comment 1 - This point states upgrading existing bus bay to allow 2 buses to stop within the bay. As Forest Coaches and Sydney Buses use bendy buses, pls ensure the requirement covers 2 bendy buses.
Comment 2 - The stage 1 works does not include the bus bay opposite Forestway shops on the intersection with Rabbett Rd and Forestway. This in fact the more important bus bay for morning peak inwards travel to city and chatswood. The current bay only just allows for 1 bus, and just fits a bendy bus. In morning peak, this can lead to a backup in the outside lane, as buses wait to enter the bus bay. This has backup effect up to a 1km. It is a reason i dont catch the bus from my local bus stop as it can take 15min + to travel from Pringle and Glen st to Forestway bus stop. I can see the surveyors have marked utiliities in the area. Pls include this requirement in your upgrade stage 1 works. Happy for you to call and discuss or meet to highlight the issues.

My concerns about the roads and infrastructure surrounding this development are as follows:
It is extremely difficult to get out of the area in which I live.
From any of the streets going onto Frenchs Forest Road
East, particularly Romford Rd, it is impossible to turn right onto Frenchs Forest Road East because of the blockage of traffic waiting to enter Wakehurst Parkway - and because of the volume of cars coming from Frenchs Forest Rd West and the left turn from Wakehurst Parkway. You can sit waiting and count 85 cars passing, so you simply cannot get out!
Then we have the volume of cars turning off Warringah Road via Allambie Rd into Frenchs Forest Road East. Massive! so even when you put lights on Romford Rd there won't be any space to drive out onto Frenchs Forest Road East.
Constantly from the Romford Rd turn onto Frenchs Forest Rd East it takes me thirty to forty minutes to get onto Wakehurst Parkway in the morning peak traffic at 7.00 am
While you are diverting traffic off Warringah Road and Wakehurst Parkway onto Frenchs Forest Road East this increases the likelihood of residents beyond Frenchs Forest Road East being locked into the area and making it SO impossible to get out and go to work, schools, and wherever we need to go. The traffic lights sound good but not if there is nowhere to go when we get a green light. It is already a two lane road heading west towards Wakehurst Parkway and that isn't enough.
Where you are adding a lane on Wakehurst Parkway to turn left onto Frenchs Forest Rd East can you please also put traffic lights to stop some of this traffic - because from Wakehurst Parkway onto Frenchs Forest Rd East it is a free run all the time for those turning left into Frenchs Forest Rd East, thus creating huge volumes of traffic from Wakehurst Parkway and Frenchs Forest Rd West all heading East. There is just no break allowing streets along Frenchs Forest Road East to get onto Frenchs Forest Rd East. I can sit there waiting to get out and count 85 cars going past. We need a break! The traffic light at Romford Rd isn't enough.
Increasing the volume of traffic onto Frenchs Forest Road East (from both Warringah Rd, Allambie Rd, and Wakehurst Parkway) is going to creat havoc and a bottleneck. Traffic heading east along Frenchs Forest Road East is continuous and the volume enormous.
Can we ensure that the residents of Frenchs Forest have a fair go at entering the stream of peak traffic in a more reasonable and timely manner?
Frenchs Forest Rd East needs to be monitored during peak traffic times both morning and evening to see the roadblock that occurs - not during school holidays, when the traffic eases all over Sydney.
Overpasses and underpasses on the intersection of Warringah Road and Wakehurst Parkway would have a huge impact on current and future traffic and would solve the majority of problems. Costly but very effective. Required.
Please consider the residents off Frenchs Forest East who have enormous difficulty in exiting the area we live in. We need reasonable access to get out.

This submission mainly relates to the roads infrastructure improvements that have been planned.
While there are substantial works planned to improve Naree Road and Forest Way etc, there appears to be zero consideration for the effect this will have on the already problematic Wakehurst Parkway/Warringah Road intersection.
I urge you to visit the intersection at 8 am on a weekday to see the existing problem first hand. I have lived in this area all my life and have travelled through this intersection every day - so I know what works and what does not.
The intersection already experiences heavy congestion with traffic regularly banking back over 1 km Southbound on the Wakehurst Parkway and back to beyond Allambie Road on Warringah Road.
The increase in traffic that the hospital will bring will only make these issues worse, and without a way to mitigate the increased traffic, will cause:
- Reduced productivity for Northern Beaches businesses
- Increased levels of pollution
- Reduced effectiveness of public transport
- Blocking of emergency vehicles travelling to and from the hospital on these roads, putting lives at risk
I strongly recommend that Wakehurst parkway be cut under Warringah road to avoid traffic banking back along both of these roads. If cutting under/an underpass is not feasible, then serious consideration and concept development should be applied to easing the traffic at this intersection.

The Community Update document dated October 2014 shows on the front page the detail of the proposed road changes at the intersection of Frenchs Forest Rd East and and Nandi Ave.
The changes as detailed are as a result of previous and very positive discussions that I and other concerned residents of Nandi Ave and Garie Place held with representatives of RMS - specifically Elizabeth Sacco and Matty Mathivarna.
We extend our thanks to the RMS team for having considered our concerns and implemented changes that address most of our concerns..
There is however one further concern that we raised that has not been addressed.
The changes to the Nandi Ave intersection allowing left and right hand turns provides acceptable access to and from Nandi Ave, provided that the intersection is not blocked by vehicles.
We further request that this intersection is clearly signposted with KEEP CLEAR pavement markings and prominent curbside signage.
Thank you for considering this request.

- Please consider allowing traffic to enter onto Forest Way from Rabbet St in the morning peak, even if it is only during the construction phase. This would reduce the number of cars using Naree Rd in the morning peak. Attempting to turn onto Forest Way at Naree rd is difficult and dangerous now, and is likely to be even more so during construction of then new road.
- Alternatively would you consider allowing "local traffic only" to enter Forest way from Rabbett St during the morning peak (6-10am). We live in Holland Crescent and since the no entry 6-10 sign was erected, it takes up to an additional 10 mins to get onto Warringah rd, even though we live only 50m from it. We anticipate this will continue to get worse throughout construction.
- We were told that roadworks would primarily occur during the day but not during the peak times. This leaves only 10am- 3pm to do works- if this correct then it will take a long time to complete.

I live near Sorlie Road and am concerned that there appears to be no increased access (to Warringah Road and Forest Way) for the many people who live in this section of Frenchs Forest, who need to turn right onto Warringah road each morning. Our choice of access is currently either Adams Road, which is extremely bottlenecked with its very short light time onto Forest Way, or Grace Avenue, which is only accessible before 7am or after 8.45am. In between it is off limits. Or, the option I and many others find the quickest, turning left at Fitzpatrick Ave W, to then do a circuit at Hilmer Street, Fitzpatrick Ave E and finally turn left on Warringah road. It is already difficult no matter which of these options you choose, so with the increased traffic of this proposal, I see this section of residents as becoming completely blocked in without adequate exits.
I would like to see several solutions added to your plan. One would be to allow a traffic light for right hand turns from Russell Avenue onto Forest Way.
Also a traffic light at Fitzpatrick Ave W to allow right hand turns onto Warringah Road.
Access to Grace Avenue would be necessary without restriction of time if the previous adaptation cannot be made.
Adams Street lights needs to cater better for the large amount of traffic from west of Forest Way that turn right each day, by increasing green light time.
To decrease bottleneck effects at Grace Avenue at the turn into the supermarket parking, make the left hand side (when facing north) no parking so that cars can pass other cars turning into the parking, allowing the flow of traffic, unlike is currently the case. With the increase in traffic that will be trying to avoid Forest Way, this will become an even greater problem.
I am surprised that none of these options have already been put into place in your plan, as it is very obvious to anyone who drives from this area in the morning that we have an access problem, soon to be majorly increased. I hope that some or all of these modifications may be added to your proposal.
Thank you for considering my submission.

In respect to the Northern Beaches Hospital Connectivity Work Stage 1. In your Community Update for the Wakehurst Parkway south of the intersection with Frenchs Forest Road East the southbound lanes from three separate intersections merge into two lanes for about 200metres. Is this a mistake or an oversight as any delays or queuing as a result of peak hour traffic will tend to gridlock all these intersections. There would appear that East-West and Northbound traffic at this intersection with Frenchs Forest Road has been adequately addressed. I appreciate that this map could be indicative only
