Aboriginal Lands SEPP amendment and Northern Beaches Aboriginal land Development Delivery Plan
Northern Beaches
An amendment is proposed to include 6 sites in State Environmental Planning Policy (Aboriginal Lands) 2019, now part of State Environmental Planning Policy (Planning Systems) 2021. An explanation of intended effect (EIE) has been prepared that identifies the sites for inclusion and objectives and intended outcomes of the amendment.
The draft Northern Beaches Aboriginal land Development Delivery Plan (DDP) is a supporting document that will help Aboriginal people fulfill potential economic benefits of their land on the Northern Beaches.
The DDP provides a framework for considering the potential development of 6 sites owned by the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLALC) in the Northern Beaches LGA.
We have worked together with the MLALC and consulted with Northern Beaches Council during the preparation of the plans.
The DDP and Planning Systems SEPP amendment are the first step in the planning process. Should the DDP be finalised, planning proposals or development applications can be lodged for the sites.
The EIE and draft DDP were exhibited for public comment from 7 February to 21 March 2022. Thank you for your feedback, which will help inform the final planning package.
