Boundary management trail, fencing and dam decommissioning at Koonaburra National Park
Cobar
As part of the carbon sequestration project, works will include clearing and grading a 6‑metre boundary management trail along approximately 87 kilometres of Koonaburra National Park’s perimeter fence, with potential for future upgrade to fire‑trail standard. Perimeter fencing will be upgraded in cooperation with neighbouring properties to prevent stock entry and reduce feral goat movement, including a minor boundary realignment to incorporate the ‘Shared Dam’ into the adjoining property. To further limit feral goat access, up to eight artificial dams will be decommissioned where not required for fire management, and four dams will be enclosed with goat‑proof fencing.
