Saltwater National Park Visitor Facilities Upgrade

Mid-Coast

Saltwater National Park is located adjacent to the township of Wallabi Point, east
of Taree, on the NSW Mid North Coast. This area receives significant visitation for
surfing, bushwalking, boat access to Khappinghat Creek, and cultural camping
during school holidays each year. The area has visitor facilities in need of renewal
due to age and maintenance needs, which will include replacement or upgrade to
substantially similar infrastructure. This includes sheltered picnic tables,
replacement of an amenities block, adding a new gas BBQ for cooking, walking
track improvements to improve visitor safety, fencing and bollards to minimise
impact on vegetation, and revegetation consistent with the approved landscape
masterplan and design plans. These works will allow visitors
and campers to continue to enjoy the location safely and with visitor facilities that
are appropriate for the needs of the area.
