The proposal seeks consent for a mixed use development incorporating shop-top housing, retail and business premises and a childcare centre as follows:
• Demolition of existing buildings and structures except for the heritage listed building that is to be restored and reused for retail purposes (approx. 309m² of retail floor area);
• The provision of a north-facing public plaza along Victoria Avenue frontage;
• Construction of five (5) new perimeter block buildings, three (3) to nine (9) storey in height, containing 233 residential dwellings located above approx. 3,600m² of various retail premises at ground and mezzanine levels (supermarket included).
The ground level of the building fronting Albert Avenue will be used for a 67 place childcare centre and for a 53m² business premises.
Up to four (4) basement levels provide parking for 439 cars, bicycle racks, storage, ancillary facilities and services.
