Reconstruction and expansion of Chatswood Chase shopping centre and associated works

The proposal seeks consent for substantial alterations and additions to Chatswood Chase Shopping Centre, located at 345 Victoria Avenue and expansion of the shopping centre into 12-14 Malvern Avenue and 5-7 Havilah Street, Chatswood.
The application is reported to Sydney North Planning Panel (SNPP) for determination as the cost of works for the proposal is $327,546,000 and as such, it meets the relevant criteria in order to be considered regional development under Schedule 4A of the EP&A Act 1979.
The works consist of:
• Demolition of two commercial buildings at 5-7 Havilah Street and 12-14 Malvern Avenue. Part-demolition of the existing above ground Chatswood Chase building at 345 Victoria Avenue.
• Re-construction of the existing shopping centre and expansion of retail into 5-7 Havilah Street.
• Extension of existing basement car parking levels into 5-7 Havilah Street and 12-14 Malvern Avenue.
• Redesign and refurbishing of all facades via unifying “stone” wrap.
• New pedestrian and vehicular entries.
• Indicative areas where signage will be displayed.
• Landscaping works.
The proposal complies with FSR control of the WLEP 2012.
A Clause 4.6 request seeks to vary the Height of Building standard of the WLEP 2012 with 1m due to the lift overrun.
