Planning Proposal not proceeding - Draft Port Stephens LEP 2010 - Kings Hill (Amendment No.1)

To convert the draft Port Stephens LEP 2010 (Amendment No.1) from a pending LEP to a planning proposal under the current Part 3 of the EP&A Act 1979. Council has prepared a draft amendment to include additional land as part of the draft Port Stephens Local Environmental Plan 2010 - Kings Hill North Raymond Terrace 2010, which has not yet been made.The draft amendment seeks to rezone 43ha of land from 1 (a) Rural Agriculture "A" under Port Stephens Local Environmental Plan 2000 to part R1 General Residential and part E2 Environmental Conservation. This will provide for up to 480 residential lots to the south of Kings Hill urban release area and adjoining the Bedminster waste management facility.Council has been advised that there are a number of planning issues that require further consideration after the exhibition of the DLEP. These issues include the management of aircraft noise, zoning of environmentally significant areas and considering potential acoustic and odour impacts from the Bedminster waste management facility.
