Planning proposals

Finalisation

Wallarah Road and Pacific Highway Kanwal

Central Coast

Homes: Approximately 675, of which 15% dedicated to affordable rental housing for a minimum of 15 years

Proposal: The site is currently a private caravan site.  The Planning Proposal will deliver a master planned residential redevelopment to provide up to 12 storey apartment blocks as well as new and improved public open space.

A Planning Proposal was lodged with the Department on 14 September 2023. The Department assessed the Planning Proposal and prepared an Explanation of Intended Effect which outlines the proposed amendments to planning controls.

The Explanation of Intended Effects and updated planning proposals were exhibited from 27 May until 24 June 2024.  The feedback received during the exhibition period has been reviewed and considered in finalising the planning documents.

Finalisation of the proposal allows the amendment of the planning controls within the Central Coast Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2022 by increasing the maximum height of buildings from 4 storeys up to 12 storeys to create up to 675 new homes, a new provision to supply 15% affordable housing and a public open space provision.  Refer to the Finalisation Report for more details.
