> This planning proposal is the subject of a Gateway Determination Review initiated by the proponent. The Gateway Determination was reviewed by the Northern Joint Regional Planning Panel who have made a recommendation that a Gateway Determination be issued. On 14 August 2018, the Acting Secretary signed an amendment to the Gateway Determination to permit the Planning Proposal to proceed. <
The planning proposal seeks to rezone part of Lot 2 DP 598769, School Road, Palmers Island, to enable the land to be developed as a marine based industry. It is proposed that part of the subject land will be rezoned from RU1 Primary Production to IN4 Working Waterfront and W3 Working Waterways to facilitate the development of the marine based industry, incorporating a wet dock facility (slipway), boat building, marine servicing and other associated industries.
