Draft Amendment 53 to Lake Macquarie LEP 2004 (East Charlestown Bypass, Stage 1)

Rezone and remove the acquisition layer on a corridor of land previously set aside for a bypass, which has now been officially determined by the RTA as not required. The land is currently zoned 5 Infrastructure and is proposed to be rezoned in accordance with adjoining land being: 2(1) Residential; 2(2) Residential (Urban Living); 3(1) Urban Centre (Core); 6(2) Tourism and Recreation; 7(1) Conservation (Primary); 7(2) Conservation (Secondary) and 7(3) Environmental (General). Proposed zoning map attached.This is stage one of the bypass corridor rezoning and removal of acquisition. Stage 2 incorporates land which is subject to a rezoning from 10 Investigation to Residential (Landcom) and requires more detailed assessment prior to being submitted as a separate Planning Proposal.
