Proposed rezoning of 236 Richmond Road, Woodcroft, from 5(a) Special Uses- Public Works to 2(a) Residential (Amendment No. 226)
Blacktown
To rezone 236 Richmond Road, Woodcroft (Blacktown) from 5(a) Special Uses- Public Works to 2(a) Residential, to enable the redevelopment of the site to accommodate approximately 80 dwellings. The site has been previously used as a Public Works Depot and most recently as a commercial office space, workshop and storage by the NSW State Property Authority and is currently under private ownership. The site contains a single storey office building and a workshop. The site also includes a smaller brick garage and a demountable building. An internal driveway privides access to a bitumen carpark providing parking for approximately 50 vehicles. There are also a large number of trees on the site, consisting mostly of Eucalypt and Melaleuca native species. Blacktown Council has advised that the existing structures will require demolition along with the removal of a number of existing trees in order to accomodate the proposed residential development.
