The Planning Proposal seeks to rezone Lot 1 DP 127485 on Lismore Road under Byron LEP 1988, from 1(a) General Rural to 2(a) Residential.Byron Amdt 137 released seven areas of land near Bangalow for urban purposes. One of the areas submitted by Byron Council (Area 6) was truncated by DoP at Gateway stage, because a small section of it (approx 10 lots) was outside the Town and Village Growth Boundary under the FNCRS (which was based on Council's 1992 Bangalow Strategy), and was also regionally significant farmland.The landowner has requested to have his land reinstated as an urban release area at the same time agreeing that land within the Town and Village Growth boundary which is flood liable will retain its rural zoning.
