Planning proposals
Macarthur Gardens North
Campbelltown
Proposal:
Landcom is proposing to amend the Campbelltown Local Environmental Plan 2015 (CLEP 2015) for its Macarthur Gardens North site. This will be done through the Department of Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure’s Social and Affordable Housing Program, which streamlines the rezoning process for housing agencies. Learn more: rezoning pathway.
The proposed changes build on the approved Concept Development Application (Concept DA) and include:
- increasing building heights from 9 to 24 storeys in the southern areas
- 375 additional homes, increasing site capacity from 1,250 to approximately 1,625 homes
- allocating 10% of homes for affordable housing
- rezones land along the Bow Bowing Creek reserve to RE1 Public Recreation and removes the provision for maximum building heights in these areas.
This proposal addresses NSW’s housing crisis by delivering diverse housing options near the town centre, public transport, and education facilities. Affordable housing supports social equity, a diverse labour market, and economic growth. Learn more about affordable housing here.
