Railway Terrace Schofields

Site Size: approximately 6.3ha
Dwellings: approximately 1,600 – 1,800, of which approximately 33% are proposed to be social, affordable, or build to rent tenure types.
Proposal: The site is situated in the North West Growth Area, 500m from Schofields railway station and town centre. The site comprises undeveloped grassland but is zoned for medium density residential development. The proposal seeks to develop the site for high density residential and will enable apartment blocks.
A planning proposal was lodged with the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 14 September 2023. The Department has assessed the planning proposal and prepared a Discussion Paper which outlines the proposed amendments to planning controls.
The Discussion Paper and updated planning proposals were exhibited from 15 February until 14 March 2024. We will review the feedback received during the exhibition period and finalise the planning documents by mid-2024.
