Community participation is an overarching term covering how we engage the community in our work under the EP&A Act, including legislative reform, plan making and making decisions on proposed development.
Division 7.1 Development Contributions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 enables consent authorities to levy contributions for public amenities and services as required as a consequence of development. A council (or two or more councils) may prepare a Contributions Plan to levy the development contributions.
A Development Control Plan provides detailed planning and design guidelines to support the planning controls in the Local Environmental Plan developed by a council. Each council is required to publish their Development Control Plan/s on the Planning Portal.
Environmental Planning Instruments is the collective name for Local Environmental Plans (LEPs), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPPs). The Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation are also included in this classification.
'Documents' is the collective name for all items published on the Planning Portal not categorised as EPIs, regulations, acts, development control plans, contribution plans, maps or Ministerial Orders. Examples of documents are: regional plans, district plans, guidelines, frequently asked questions, reports, and planning circulars.
