The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department), in collaboration with the Narrabri Shire Council (Council) developed the Narrabri Place Strategy and Rezoning Proposal, a 20-year vision to support growth in the area and deliver more homes and jobs.
The Department publicly exhibited the draft Place Strategy and supporting Rezoning Proposal from 23 August 2024 to 20 September 2024 and received 52 submissions. Feedback received during the exhibition informed the finalisation of these Plans.
The Rezoning Proposal enables the rezoning of land in Narrabri for new homes, facilities, infrastructure and services, and details the planning framework and legislative amendments for rezoning under the Narrabri Local Environmental Plan 2012 (Narrabri LEP 2012).
Find out how we responded to feedback by reading the Finalisation Report below. The Place Strategy can be accessed via Council’s website.
Development applications can be made to Council for most new developments in the precinct that meet the requirements of the Rezoning Proposal and Narrabri LEP 2012.
