State Environmental Planning Policy (Port Botany and Port Kembla) Amendment (Port of Newcastle) 2013

The NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure has made planning changes to the Port of Newcastle as it is transitioning to a private long-term lease operation. The change will ensure full merit-based assessment for significant projects while streamlining processes for commonplace port infrastructure to allow for an efficient port operation. Minor changes are also planned for Port Kembla and Port Botany. These will help create a consistent planning regime across all three ports.
