My husband Philip Paton and I live at Macquarie Shores Village, 150 Tall Timbers Road, Doyalson North NSW 2262. We object to the proposal because we already suffer with noise and vibrations from the colliery. The noise and vibrations at night make it hard to sleep. My husband suffers from Younger Onset Dementia and the noise and vibrations make it hard for him to sleep or get back to sleep if he wakes up. It also affects my sleep. We cannot have a window open at night because of the noise. There is also a lot of black dust caused by the production and breaking down of the coal. We are entitled to quiet enjoyment in our residence and unfortunately this is not happening due to the coal activities. Due to my husband's terminal illness and the financial constraints upon us as I have had to give up work to look after my husband it is very hard for us to move. Due to the dementia we get little sleep and this is exacerbated by the noise and vibrations from the colliery. Please do not let this amendment be approved as it is detrimental to the health of us and the other residents of our village and also the other residents in our area. It is disgraceful that the Government would put profit before the health and wellbeing of its constituents.

I refer to my previously submitted submission in relation to this matter. I also wish to mention that the walls of our house vibrate, especially at night. The modification should not be approved as it serves no purpose other than to make money when is sent overseas. The Australian Government must put Australians and their health and welfare before profit.
