Save Our Surroundings objects to this proposed project as it poses so many risks to the local human and animal populations. Risks still include grass/bush fires, noise, soil and water contamination, very high disposal costs, unclear responsibility for end-of-life cleanup, lack of economic viable recycling of such huge volumes of toxic components, and the risk of obsolesce as much better technologies, such as small nuclear reactors become available over the next few years. Australia's oldest wind electricity plant recently reached its end-of-life and rather than undertake the decommissioning, etc. that it promised, the owner just declared it a museum. How many more wind and solar projects will not meet their EIS commitments, as is happening in other countries? No upfront bond means no skin in the game.

I totally object to the Burrendong Wind Project because it will mean destroying over 600 hectares of bushland and Koala habitats. Aswell, a toxic substance, Bisphenol, flakes of the turbine blades and will go into the local waterways.
Please do not go ahead with this project.
Thankyou

I Strongly object to the BURRENDONG WIND FARM PROPOSAL....especially on Our Worlds End Ridgeline .
We CAN'T have TURBINES THERE.
TURBINE 53 is just - ILLEGALLY - 3.35 from our wonderful family home and veranda...and the possibility of ARK moving it closer !!!

ARK = proven to be an Untrustworthy Sth Korean MINING company!!!
All this destroying our wonderful Lifestyle property ...killing us ... Destroying the VALUE of our land.

For over 40 years our Big Family, and Friends have maintained this property...and surrounding area.

It has a High Peaceful and Scenic Quality Landscape and area. ----Now about to be destroyed by Ark !!!

FACE to FACE meetings with Andrew Wilson - ARK Project manager ---when asked how he / they intend to deal with the NOTIFIABLE WEED---- SERRATED TUSSOCK , MR WILSON had NO IDEA what it is !!!

BPA -Bisphenol A = is proven and World Health Organization has warned about the SERIOUS and DEADLY HEALTH ISSUES.
Leading edges of the Turbine Blades = SHED fine dust , and Blade Edges only have a 5 year guarantee!

From our WORLDS END RIDGE LINE, = we will now have BPA Dust blowing into our Water Tanks.
BPA Dust easily blowing down to the MEROO RIVER below the Ridge Line= flowing down to the BURRENDONG DAM ....and on to the Agricultural Land == YOUR FOOD =
Creating HUGE HEALTH ISSUES and KILLING AUSTRALIANS!
EMF INFRA SOUND also Killing us!
WILD LIFE DESTROYED.....

I object most strongly to this project, I own 826 & 827 Worlds end rd Worlds End & this project will make my land unsellable due to 6 wind turbines with flashing lights at night & visual eyesores during the day (blades turning) over looking my land. I visit this property regularly & the noise of construction & increased traffic will upset the quiet enjoyment of my land, I believe this construction noise will also drive off the Kangaroos, goats & bird life which are always in attendance, my parents bought this land in 1975 & there has always been a family of Wedgetail Eagles nesting & soring along the Worlds End ridgeline (which the EIS omitted to mention). The EIS mentions 100-300 employees that will be on site, the only 2 ways out of the project are Yarrabin rd & Wallawang rd via a small 1 store village at Hargraves (which has a Primary School), how these road surface will deal with this amount of vehicle movements safely every day I don't know, let alone the heavy trucks delivering steel turbine components, this also concerns me as I have to drive on the Yarrabin rd to access my property & don't want my only transport damaged by potholes or flying rocks from trucks, I am strongly against this project.

We visit 167 Rockford lane, Yarrabin a couple of times a year. We love the remote, beautiful and peaceful ambiance of the place. The ridgeline at World End is a feature we love sitting and watching the sunset go down over. The thought of this view being ruined by the inclusion of wind turbines is just unbearable. You cant even see the neighbors and that is what we love so staring at heap of wind turbines would be devasting to the place.
We also have concerns about the bushland that will be destroyed to make way for the turbines. Hundreds of hectares will be bulldozed to make way for so called environmentally friendly energy.
Please do not let this project go ahead and lets keep this part of Australia in its pristine current condition.

These Turbines should be installed in location that is
closer to existing power grid for easier grid tie in. Please don't destroy the natural habutat and water way of this area that i personally have enjoyed many times. Turbines should be build close to freeways for cheaper maintenance and repairs when they invariably break down. I have a user pays philosophy about tubines. The pro turbine voters should have turbines built in close proximity to allow them to be marvelled upon by this voter group..
Thankyou for your understanding and time,

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Pedersen property at Yarrabin almost 15 years ago. I was amazed at how beautiful the property is and instantly fell in love with it. Since then I have visited regularly to spend time with our friends there and escape the city and our busy lives. In the years since, I’ve had children and Yarrabin is one of their favourite places to visit because they  are free to explore in nature. And I love it for them because there is no technology in sight.
We often go on bush walks to the top of the highest point in the property which has expansive views out to Burrendong Dam and the Worlds End ridge line. The view is so beautiful and we often go there for sunset to enjoy it.

If the Ark Energy wind turbine project goes ahead, it will completely destroy this beautiful part of Australia, and rob us of our escape from the city to beautiful nature with our community of friends. It would also do a massive amount of damage to the local wildlife and landscape.

The construction and ongoing noise once completed will force all the local wildlife to leave the area, or worse, kill them. I have read about how damaging these wind turbines are to land and air animals, and how noisy and disruptive they are to human mental health.
They also are really expensive to maintain, so if there are any issues with them, they often get left in disrepair to rust up and are never removed, which makes them an eyesore on our landscape forever, a detrimental legacy for future generations to deal with.

As far as renewable energy goes, this technology is at the bottom of the barrel. Let’s do better. Please stop this project now.

I am writing to express my strong disapproval of the proposed Berrendong Wind Farm project. As a frequent visitor to the area, I have witnessed firsthand the beauty and tranquility that this region offers.
Unfortunately, the construction of a wind farm in this area would irreversibly alter the landscape, disrupt the peaceful environment that so many of us cherish, and be devastating for land owners and and the community.

One of the main reasons my family and I enjoy visiting our friends' property at 167 Rockford lane, Yarrabin, is because it allows us to disconnect from the constant distractions of modern life. Their lifestyle property is completely off the grid. The absence of mobile phones, television, and video games allows us to truly appreciate the wonders of nature and enjoy quality time together.
One of the things we love most is star gazing with our young children without the interfere of unnatural light - something we can’t enjoy living in Sydney.

The introduction of a wind farm would bring with it the intrusion of artificial lights, noise pollution, and the unsightly presence of towering turbines on World’s End Ridgeline. This would undoubtedly detract from the picturesque landscape that currently defines the area.

Moreover, the negative impact on the native fauna cannot be overlooked. The construction and operation of the wind farm would disrupt the natural habitats of various species, leading to devastating effects on their sleep and movement patterns, reproductive cycles and much more. We have seen similar consequences in other countries where wind farms have been established, and it is disheartening to think that the same fate could await the wildlife in this area.

Additionally, the encroachment of wind farms on the properties surrounding the Berrendong Wind Farm site is a cause for concern. Many property owners in the area have invested in their land precisely because of the peace and tranquility it offers. The presence of giant wind turbines would undoubtedly decrease property values and deter potential buyers, leading to a decline in the local real estate market. This would have a significant impact on the property owners in the area and I have seen first hand the emotional stress it is already causing.

In conclusion, I strongly disapprove of the Berrendong Wind Farm project due to the detrimental effects it would have on the natural beauty, wildlife, and property market in the yarrabin area. I urge ARK energy to listen to the community feedback and eliminate the turbines along the World’s End Ridgeline.
I hope the NSW government reconsider the construction of this wind farm and explore alternative, less intrusive methods of generating renewable energy. Let us preserve the untouched nature and serenity that this area currently offers for future generations to enjoy.

Thank you for considering my concerns. I trust that you will take them into account when making decisions regarding the Berrendong Wind Farm project.

I vehemently disagree to the South Korean company ARK energy's proposal of installing over 70+ wind turbines and their associated infrastructure along the World's End Ridgeline.

Our property in the Worlds End valley was purchased by our father for the purpose of somewhere to get back to nature and 'get away from it all'.
The installation of exceptionally large, constantly moving wind turbines goes completely against what being in the valley is all about.

How can a non-recyclable system, that needs to bulldoze over 600+ hectares of bushland and wildlife habitat be allowed to proceed? We have an abundance of Micro Bats, Glossy Red-Tailed Cockatoos, Wedge Tail Eagles and Koala's that call this valley home. The destruction of this amount of land goes against the principal of living a more sustainable existence with minimal harm to the landscape and its inhabitants.

All of this ruination for a system that can only produce intermittent energy. Which then also leads to intermittent noise. A valley that is composed of beautiful rock formations which will only enhance the bouncing around of noise produced by these abhorrent turbines. All of this ruination for a system that will only degrade and lose its efficiency over time. So, a system that is intermittent at best, becomes even more ineffective, to the point where it becomes useless. As the turbines degrade, where do the bits and paint flakes go? Into our water supply to taint it, causing harm to humans and our freshwater life that call our rivers home. Onto our land causing harm to our soil and wildlife that call the valley home. Why destroy the land for this?

The peace, tranquility and beautiful unobstructed World's End Ridgeline view will be castaway if this proposal goes ahead.
Not to forget the possible repercussions to the decrease in value of our land if these unreliable, obscenely large weather dependent, eye-sores are permitted. Would you want to purchase land in a beautiful tranquil valley if all you could see was a series of giant, man-made behemoths as you walk out onto your front porch?

The only people to benefit from this proposal is a multi national Non-Australian company who does not care about our beautiful bush, wildlife or families who call Worlds End home. Families who have endeavored to work with the land, rather than scar and maim it.

We implore the Department of Planning to seriously consider what they would be allowing to go ahead.

I am a longtime friend of the Pedersen family whose property is at 167 Rockford lane, Yarrabin. I went to high school with one of the family and we have been friends for 35 years!

As soon as we were young adults, I started to visit the property at Yarrabin regularly for weekends away. Groups of us would drive there to escape our busy city lives, to spend time with each other, in nature. We’d go for bush walks and swims during the day, sit around the campfire at night, talking, sharing food, looking at the stars, listening to music and dancing. And always within sight of the beautiful and expansive views of the Worlds End ridge line. It was so wonderful, and such a welcome escape from urban life in Sydney.

The Pedersen children each invited their friends to these weekends, so that everyone got to know each other, friendships and relationships were formed and the result is a wonderful community of people. Now many of us have our own children and we relish our trips to the Pedersen property in Yarrabin. The kids run around together, play in nature, with no devices in sight, and are so happy there. Us adults connect with each other, rest and recover from our busy and stressful lives in the city and enjoy being in nature in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. With no phone reception, we get to really switch off from our devices and have a welcome and much needed break from technology. It is so peaceful, we love it.

All this is now in danger, from the Ark energy proposal to erect wind turbines on the Worlds End ridge line. This proposal will completely destroy the beautiful surroundings and peaceful serenity at the Pedersen property. Just the proposal alone has caused a great amount of stress to the family and our community in the last couple of years. But if it is successful, the construction of these wind turbines will ruin the future of our community there too.

We beg you to save our beautiful community, landscape, wildlife and bush land, by saying no to this destructive proposal.

Thank you.

Firm Objection to Proposed Windfarm Project

I am writing to express my firm objection to the proposed windfarm project slated for our community.
Firstly, the assertion of achieving "zero emissions" through this project seems misguided, especially in light of the global reliance on coal and nuclear power. Dismissing CO2 as a pollutant contradicts widespread scientific consensus and overlooks the multifaceted challenges posed by greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, claims that renewables are economically superior to coal or nuclear power lack substantiated evidence when considering comprehensive lifecycle costs.

The potential threat to local wildlife, particularly the Wedge-tailed Eagles, is deeply troubling. These majestic creatures frequent the very areas designated for turbine installation, posing a significant risk to their natural habitat and increasing the likelihood of fatalities.

Moreover, the visual impact of these turbines in an area originally zoned as rural, explicitly prohibiting industrial projects, is a cause for serious concern. The aesthetic degradation and potential devaluation of properties will disproportionately affect residents who invested in this area under the presumption that it would remain free from industrialization.

The potential release of bisphenol A and its consequential effects on public health and our water supply is an alarming prospect that warrants thorough investigation and evaluation.

Most disheartening is the project's divisive impact on our community. It segregates residents into two groups: those benefitting financially from hosting the turbines and those shouldering the burdens without any compensation. This division erodes community cohesion and solidarity, fracturing the harmony within our neighbourhood.

Furthermore, the growing awareness among the Australian populace regarding the adverse consequences of the renewables agenda raises substantial concerns about the sustainability and true benefits of such initiatives. These so-called sustainable projects appear to primarily benefit those proposing, hosting, and authorizing them, with limited tangible advantages for the broader community.

In light of these significant concerns, I urge a reconsideration of this project. I implore the pertinent authorities to conduct an impartial, comprehensive assessment of its potential environmental, economic, and social impacts on our community.

I am enthusiastic about engaging in further discussions to explore alternative solutions that align with our community's best interests and prioritize both environmental sustainability and social harmony.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I wish to submit my objection to the proposed Burrendong Wind Farm.

The immediate visual impact of the turbine installation will ruin a unique ridgeline landscape, and affect a proportionally high number of landholders in the area.

I have been visiting Yarrabin for over 30 years, with the pristine Meroo River, backed by the towering World’s End Ridgeline, always the drawcard for my return visits. The idea that turbines of the scale and size proposed could then sit atop such a ridgeline seems inconceivable for me, particularly when viewed from lower elevations to the East. The fact that the size and positioning of the turbines requires them to be lit at night, further screams out to the lack of judgement and poor planning behind this proposal, and would mean the turbines remain an unescapable, 24/7 oppressive reminder for residents.

My personal views on the use of wind and solar are not relevant and not a driver for this letter. My concern is that this beautiful and relatively untouched piece of Australian bush - cared for, loved and used by so many, can for even one moment be considered an appropriate site for such a project.

Thank you for your attention, and in anticipation of a review of the project that gives appropriate consideration to the lives of so many Australian bush lovers that call the area home. I hope the NSW Government sees the opportunity here to save one of its own priceless, irreplaceable views - which brings visitors to the region and supports the day to day wellbeing of its lucky locals.

My family and friends visit this area frequently for the natural beauty and serenity this area provides to get away from man made structures and be at one with the natural environment, it’s getting harder and harder to find places untouched, to escape to a refuge to reflect and regain some mental energy and health so to think that there will be oppressive structures spinning overhead is very upsetting I’m also concerned what will happen after the end of their life cycle when they are no longer efficiently producing electricity.

I strongly object to this project.
Should this wind turbines project go ahead we will have towers towering 600 plus meters above our house.
Currently we live with no infrastructure, road noise or lights, to interfere with this pocket peacefulness.
Every year we have significant numbers of people come to enjoy the tranquility we call home.
The worlds end ridge line is a high quality scenery of value. With bird life (wedge tail eagles, glossy back cockatoos etc) that will undoubtedly be killed.
The rugged nature of our land makes it unusable as farm land, so the isolation, peace and wildlife are what give such extreme value to us and our guests. All this would be reduced to nothing should this project go ahead.
Please consider this as I believe these turbines to be to close to ours and many other dwellings.
