I support the proposed extensions for the Boggabri Coal Mine, as it continues to be a vital source of income for many local families, including my own. The mine not only provides stable employment but also contributes significantly to the local economy and community infrastructure.

From what I’ve seen and understand, the mine follows best environmental practices and operates within regulatory frameworks designed to minimize environmental impact. Responsible resource development like this supports jobs, local businesses, and regional development, while maintaining a commitment to environmental stewardship.

The continued operation and expansion of the mine will help ensure ongoing economic security for many people in our area. I fully support its extension.

I support this project. BCOPL is a key contributor to the North West region through VPAs, community sponsorships, and local procurement. With 458 direct employees and 176 local contractors, it delivers strong economic and social benefits. A four-year extension will allow BCOPL to continue supporting the community and investing in renewable energy, while helping to sustain jobs, boost the local economy, and align with state and national sustainability goals.

My family I support continued mining in the Gunnedah basin. I am of the view that mining is and has been essential for the local community and has enabled growth and opportunities for local businesses, residents and young people. It would be an incredible shame to leave behind resources from areas already being mined, considering the outstanding quality, and customer base of the products produced by Boggabri Coal.

Boggabri Coal has a track record as a significant employer and contributor to the community. They have allowed me an my family to remain in regional NSW have provided opportunities that are otherwised disproportionately available to major populations centres. I beleive its important that local communities are listened to. Too often Governments have shut down industries (such as Forestry) in this region stating that tourism will replace them, where in my experience it has just left towns to fade away. To just step away from one of Australias largest exports and income sources without having productive alternatives is likely to devastate our economy and hurt our global friends and Allies by witholding the energy resources we are very lucky to have.

I am writing to express my support for the Boggabri 10 submission.
Not only does the mine provide employment for over 1,000 people, but it also contributes significantly to our local community—both directly through jobs and sponsorships, and indirectly by supporting local businesses and services. Its ongoing presence is vital to the economic and social wellbeing of our region.
I believe the continued operation and development of the mine will ensure long-term benefits for our community and future generations.

The Boggabri Coal mines Modification 10 approval will enable the mine to continue to support the local community and its families for a further four years. I personally depend on the mine to support my family just like over 1000 other employees.

Approval of this modification will bring further economic benefits to the region, not only the people directly employed by the operation (approx 850 people) but to the wider community and business within the area where the mine operates and the people employed live and spend their money.
Whilst it is accepted that the region will at some point have to move away from relying on coal mining to support the economy, this extension will give a little more breathing room to find alternatives. Without alternatives, which do not exist at the moment, the towns of Narrabri Boggabri and Gunnedah will struggle and ultimately loose relevance. Without a replacement industry I am afraid that these downs will slowly shrink to a point where they are not sustainable. The communities are well aware of this and need more time to plan for the transition and an economy post coal mining.
Failing to approve developments like this, which have minimal environmental impact, will have long lasting negative social and economic implications for the region. The upside of approval of this development is significant and of vital importance to the communities the wider area.

To whom it may concern,

Extending the life of Boggabri Coal Mine will have a profound positive impact on the local communities.
I'm currently an apprentice learning a very critical trade with Idemitsu and I feel extending the life will only create more local jobs and get more skilled workers in the area.
Boggabri as a community relies on the support from the mining sector, Idemitsu has completed a beautiful upgrade to the area with the new Glentarkie aged units, without their support this project would never have gone ahead.
I have recently relocated to Boggabri and wish to stay here for as long as possible, its a beautiful town with a beautiful atmosphere, I would love to see more people be able to work and live in Boggabri.

I approve of the MOD 10 extension, let's keep jobs local.

Thank you,
Vanessa Prince.

The Boggabri mine creates a lot of jobs in the community, and the community is very reliant on the mine. Boggabri Coal is very much part of the community, making significant contributions towards community projects. I believe Boggabri are a responsible operator and a good corporate citizen. There would be an exodus of people from the area should the mine not exist. Shops and businesses would suffer and possibly have to close in the event of the mine ceasing operations. Please consider the current Mine modification as a positive for the community. The community / region needs mining as other industries do not create adequate employment for the current population.
