YOUR SUBMISSION IS NEEDED AGAIN
APPROVAL IS CLOSE BUT THE NORTH MACKSVILLE ON OFF RAMPS ARE NOT OVER THE LINE YET
URGENT Please Share and respond by the 13th of April 2016 or we may not get the Highway ramps @ North Macksville
The Department of Planning has called for final submissions for the On and Off Rams @ North Macksville. We got the plans through RMS but there has been a revision on option 2 to incorporate driveways in the design.
In the interest of your business, our community, our businesses and the future of Macksville and environs for future generations, this is an important message.
As part of the project, NSW Government's Roads & Maritime Services are now seeking feedback from the community on these ramps and we quote from the attached pamphlet that they are "seeking approval to build north facing ramps at North Macksville".
How can you support approval for the ramps?

Why should you support approval for the ramps?
The attached document sets out all the advantages we pointed out in our lobbying process, however, there are further advantages and we are sure Wayne Lowe, Development Officer from Nambucca Council, will not mind us quoting his statement at a recent Chamber meeting, that the detour off the highway to Macksville will be the shortest on the Mid North Coast.
The other reason why this should be supported, is that there are those who may lobby against this, and they may have their own reasons for so doing, but we cannot let all the hard work we have undertaken be wasted and loose the best opportunity we have had for Macksville and environs for some time.
Please act know.
We would like to thank Nambucca Shire's General Manager, Michael Coulter, for alerting us to this opportunity and the closing date.

With reference to the Warrell Ck to Nam. Heads Pacific H'way upgrade we wish to advise that we have carefully considered all options & support Option 2 Revised.
The off ramps will be of great benefit to the community economically & will provide quicker & more convenient access to the north, both for the Macksville community & for those living further west @ Bowravillle & beyond. Access to & from Macksville hospital will also be enhanced.

I support the op[tion as will ensure access by emergency services to both sides of Macksville at all times.
As a business owner, the very short on and off distance for highway users to access Macksville will benefit business and the community by ameliorating some of the effect of losing passing traffic business for the town.

The repeated public submissions for comment on the PROPOSED??!! on/off
ramps at MACKSVILLE is becoming a farce. The proposed ramps (option
2)were promised to the Macksville community by the then Deputy Premier
Andrew Stoner. The VAST MAJORITY of Macksville residents believe that
the matter has been resolved and option 2 IS TO BE IMPLEMENTED,
obviously they have been misled!
I am writing to you once again as I have only just been made aware
that the agreed Macksville town on/off ramps are still in jeopardy.
These ramps are essential and will be extremely beneficial to the vast
majority of people in our town. I support the option 2 (preferred
option) which would include a northbound on-ramp onto the highway, a
southbound off-ramp from the highway and a median cross-over facility to
enable emergency vehicles, including fire services and ambulances
(stationed at North Macksville), to respond quickly by travelling north
and south on the highway. Local RFS brigades respond to fires through out the whole
Nambucca region. The RFS has determined that Climate change will result
in more extensive and more intense fire threat necessitating a larger
appliance presence and faster response time from emergency services.
Increased traffic volumes will require our increased attendance at motor
vehicle incidents and associated medical emergencies.
These proposed accesses are ESSENTIAL for the safety of our community
and passers through!
Many in the community including myself were under the misapprehension
that once the project was promised to us by the then Deputy Premier WE
WOULD GET IT. Naively, we did not realise we would need to agitate and
lobby for its realisation so we have been complacent, BUT NOT
DISINTERESTED!
The descriptor "preferred option" implies to many just that, however it
is now obvious that option 2 NOT PREFERRED by the government we helped
to elect!
Thank you for your consideration.

Dear Sir,
I totally object to this proposal.
Regardless of the obvious benefits that are now being considered including the improved connectivity between Macksville and areas to the north, the allowance of traffic to stop at Macksville and the improved response time for emergency vehicles .Unfortunately though, these same ideas were totally rejected by the RTA 's Mr Chris Clarke addressing community meetings many years ago.If they had I'm sure that my neighbours and myself would have been bought out.
The RMS has shown on too many occasions that they treat the residents with disdain. Since this project has commenced I have had to move my 20,000 litre water tanks because they encroached beyond my boundary. The site preparation, transfer and necessary plumbing will be at my expense. A new driveway entrance that runs diagonally to my new fence and the placement of 3 high power poles(one with a large transformer) within 10 metres of each other right next to my house.I have little confidence that the RMS will consider the residents re this proposal. Air pollution and in particular noise pollution is going to be even worse.
I suspect that the RMS will do absolute minimum re. household noise remission work.
Thanking You,

Hi
I note the "Modification 8 - North Macksville Ramps" above and advertised in Midcoast Observer March 30, p9.
I'm wondering how/when the "on ramps" and "off ramps" are being decided for Nambucca Heads, the town with the largest population in this shire (10,000). There only seems to be a round-about some kilometres north of the town. Could you clarify what other access to the new roadway will be available for residents?
Many people from Nambucca Heads travel south to Macksville and Kempsey (and sometimes Port Macquarie) for work, medical support, shopping etc.
If there is no provision for travellers travelling south of Nambucca Heads, I think the residents of Nambucca Heads are largely unaware of that, and there will be long-term resentment.
Ideally south-bound access to the new roadway would be available south of Nambucca Heads. But, if that is not possible, can't there at least be on and off ramps for heading south via the "Underpass for Old Coast Road" (west of Nambucca Heads) on the attached map?
I believe this issue is critical for working people of Nambucca Heads and those with medical problems.

The ramps duplicate a facility already incorporated into the original design
The further destroy and impact in a extremely negative way our amenity
Macksville is not a service centre
It will allow heavy vehicles to continue to access Macksville streets and an already seriously compromised bridge
The decision process for these ramps appears to be inappropriate
Increase dramatically the risk to affected residents were currently no risk exists
Further trampling the rights of affected residents without any compensation or even acknowledgement.
