Mod 8 - North Macksville Ramps

Access to the new Macksville bypass on the northern side of town is important for access: for workers travelling north to work, students travelling north to educational opportunities (CHEC, etc.), all residents accessing financial and shopping facilities of our regional centre, Coffs Harbour.
I would prefer to see simple on and off ramps direct to the existing Highway 1- without having to drive through a collection on intersections and roundabouts??!

I strongly recommend that the on/off ramps be installed at Newee Creek. This option is of vital importance, especially for emergency service vehicles to have quick access to the highway. Delays caused by the use of the northern ramp at Valla to gain access to Macksville hospital and also for the use of the fire brigade & others could have major implications and even cause death. It is also VERY IMPORTANT for the continued welfare of our town as more people will be inclined to stop off in Macksville if the access ramp is close to the highway.

It is so very important for the Macskville community to have on - off ramps onto the upgrade of the Pacific Highway,

The first & probably the most important reason is for emergency vehicles to access the Highway quickly if required & for the emergency vehicles to access the Macskville hospital as quickly as possible. If this does not happen it may effect lives.

Also it would provide travelers with much quicker & easier access to our beautiful town & its facilities. Without it our town may suffer financially, something we can ill afford.

I support the overall project for the north Macksville off ramp and on ramp as a local resident and business owner. It is in the best interests of the general public for both local residents and highway users to make this modification for the benefits stated already in the latest publication. I also support the latest refinements to the preferred option because they improve the safety of local road users and pedestrians and further ameliorate the measures to reduce the impact of increased traffic on nearby residents.

I think it is critical to have an on/off ramp in Macksville. It could be the difference between life and death of those in the area as ambulances and other emergency vehicles have to take a detour to make it to the hospital. Also patients that are in Macksville hospital that require emergency transport to Coffs Harbour hospital will have to wait longer as emergency vehicles travel around the highway to get to the Nambucca Heads turn off. As someone who has been in this situation it seriously is the difference between life and death.

Also the idea of the highway was to ease the traffic from the existing highway. The lack of ramps in Macksville will have no effect on the extensive traffic between Macksville in Nambucca which is ridiculous at the moment for those of us who commute for work.

I just feel that it is a really long way for emergency transport 1 to get to the highway in case of accident but most of all for patients that are needing to get to Coffs or Port hospitals.

Also for the other emergency services.

I Support the Macksville North facing on and off ramps.

I support the addition of the north facing ramps and median cross-over at North Macksville. This will allow improved emergency vehicle access and easier access to and from the highway for tourists and residents alike.
I would like to see the existing intersection of Old Coast Road and the Pacific highway upgraded by means of a roundabout to improve safety.
