I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because it will require the demolishion of very old historic buildings that Sydney & Australia have so few of! Surely somewhere else can be found to put the museum & if not then just have the one in Ultimo. It's an utter disgrace the NSW LNP government have so little regard for our beautiful unique old buildings & I've watched in dismay as historic pubs & houses & buildings come under the wrecking ball under this government & i will not be voting for them again.

Please don’t allow the demolition of these historic buildings in Parramatta. This is part of the first settlement in the British colony and this part of Parramatta has already lost so much heritage.

We need to protect what little is left and a large complex like the 2nd Powerhouse can be relocated to somewhere else where it will do a lot less damage to the heritage environment.

I declare I have never made any political donations to any party, this is not a partisan issue, it’s about protecting our heritage for future generations, and frankly making our living environment a much nice place to be.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because such a destruction of one heritage for another is inconsistent with community expectations. We have plenty of land to put the site on. Parking and access would be far more consistent with the future of the Powerhouse at a more open site, let alone destroying what little we have.

I have no reportable donations and do not object to my name being published with this submission.

I object to the Parramatta Powerhouse relocation causing the destruction of buildings that should be preserved for future generations. Willow Grove and St George’s Terrace are one of a kind in the Parramatta CBD and their loss would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage.
I went to school at OLMC in Parramatta and I loved these old areas, it was such a pleasure to walk around and see these beautiful old houses. Can you imagine what the beautiful Rocks area would look like now if it had been pulled down? What an impact that would have had on tourism?
These old areas in cities are the heart and soul of a community and as such, could be developed with heritage restoration into a vibrant arts centre for the local community. That would attract tourists far more than building a shiny new soulless place. I certainly wouldn’t go back to Parramatta to go to it.
I declare I have not made any reportable political donations.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because we need to preserve our historic buildings. So many have been destroyed. They are part of our history.

I was born in Parramatta in what was then a Private Women’s Hospital, perhaps this very building. It would be wonderful if Parramatta led the way in protecting, maintaining, and preserving the beautiful historic building, both private dwellings and public structures. Not follow the wasteful lack of foresight shown in other areas of Sydney and Australia in general.
Please take a stand and stop this trend of destruction.
Think creatively about where other new structures can be placed.

It has come to pass that the NSW State Govt doesnt listen to the majority of its citizens. The State has unfettered planning power, random and inconsistent

I know, I suffered the same fate with a development application for a SEPP55 next door to me. I live in a Heritage Sensitive zone and have been refused by the local council to build a 2nd floor as have 2 of my neighbors. Yet an outside developer can come in and build 11 units in a concrete office box like structure on a very busy corner (where it is a known hot spot for accidents by the local Council). (LEC Proceedings No. 2019/103437)

I did a petition had had 99.9% of the locals within .5km radius say they disapprove of this development.

We lost.

As we will probably lose this Willow Grove because the Government doesnt listen.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta Project for the following reasons

Moving the Powerhouse Museum to the City of Parramatta should never have been considered. The site selected to "build" the new museum is Willow Grove, a historical and beautiful home that should be protected for future generations of Australians. We need to have a sense of history and durability in this City.

The Citizens of Parramatta need to retain a sense of place and belonging, therefore, they need Willow Grove and Georges Terraces to be retained and to stop their destruction. They do not need more overbuilding, ugly and badly designed edificies, huge concrete blocks that create wind tunnels and shadows in the streets making the place ghostly and inhospitable.

Willow Grove and Georges Terraces are places that should be retained and preserved for Australians in the future, they are beautiful examples of architecture that unfortunately does not exist in the area anymore. It is my opinion that preserving beautiful architecture should be a smart decision for caring and loving Australians. Giving into the wishful want of developers does not always benefit humanity.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because we, the PEOPLE OF SYDNEY AND THE FUTURE RESIDENTS OF SYDNEY need to have a sense of History and Belonging to Culture and Heritage!!! Places like Willow Grove and St George's Terrace!!!!
Not All of us want our beautiful CITY OF SYDNEY to be what is being done to it now by greedy developers and crook politicians: a place full of BORING AND UGLY GLASS AND CONCRETE BLOCKS!!! Where is the esthetic and "difference" if all of Sydney will look like the centre of the City and Parramatta now?
Wouldn't it be nicer and Smart to keep those beautiful buildings and USE THEM!!!! Use them for a Museum that the Parramatta residents want or for a conventions centre or lots of other projects if people want!!! Why destroy History when it can be used to present days advantage?
I hope you are an intelligent person and think about the heaps of possibilities for those two places without flatening them and putting idiotic designs on it.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because our Sydney heritage is fast disappearing. The Parramatta area is a major part of our settlement history. Please appreciate the value of heritage and spare the little we have left. My personal family traces back to the first white people to live in Parramatta. There are alternatives therefore it just doesn’t make sense. Regards,

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because..
We've already seen so much of Sydney's character has been ripped apart so roads and other high rise developments can be built. It's such a shame that the government will demolish two more historic places and their surroundings such as gardens and ambience.
The government's own reports states : Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are one of a kind in the Parramatta CBD and their lose would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage"
I have always supported the Powerhouse remaining at Ultimo. There never was a need to move it and the reasons the government has given do not seem reasonable or transparent at the very least.
The government can and should do better for the whole of the city and NSW particularly for community and start listening to the community for a change.

I wish my name to be withheld from being published with this submission. I have not made any reportable political donations.

I wish to strongly state that I believe the Powerhouse Museum should remain in its current location in Sydney's Darling Harbour precinct. If an alternate museum is proposed for Parramatta I believe it should not be located in any area where any of the unique and valuable historical buildings/features are destroyed in the process. In particular, Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace should be protected and their future ensured for generations to come. Their loss, and the loss of any similar buildings for development purposes, would be unforgivable and would impact on the community's connection with our unique heritage...and I am talking about the Greater Community as many people outside the Parramatta region visit especially to enjoy the wonderful heritage architecture found in the area. Thank you.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because it’s construction is the destruction of our cultural heritage. Parramatta has so little left now of its historic houses in the name of progress. Once Willow Grove and the St Georges Terraces are destroyed we can’t bring them back. People do visit those historic houses when visiting Parramatta to learn about our past history and architecture.
There is a perfect solution: keep the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo where it belongs; create a Museum and Cultural Centre at Cumberland Hospital Precinct at Nth Parramatta so Willow Grove and St Georges Terraces can be saved.

Please don’t destroy our cultural heritage, too much has been destroyed already.

To the NSW Government

I am a long time Liberal supporter but I do not agree with the current Liberal Government’s plans for Parramatta.

I strongly object to the Government plans to demolish historic Parramatta properties, i.e. Willow Grove and St George’s Terrace, to make way for a new museum.

I strongly agree with a previous Government statement which said: “Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are one of a kind in the Parramatta CBD and their lose would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage".

I strongly urge Government to use the Cumberland Hospital Precinct in North Parramatta to make a unique museum that showcases the historic buildings and tells the story of Parramatta’s place in our history.

I strongly urge Government to follow Parramatta Council’s plans for a public square along Parramatta River which will showcase the existing historic buildings already in the area i.e. Willow Grove & St Georges Terrace.

Please note that I have not made any reportable political donations.
