"The key components of the Project include:
• continuation of operations for an additional 20 years;
• increase in the total resource to approximately 7.5 million tonnes;
• development of three benches across the eastern extent of the extraction area to increase the depth of the
pit; and
• relocation of the site control room, offices and amenities and addition of an aggregate pre-coat plant. "
And ""The Project would facilitate the ongoing supply of construction materials to the local and regional markets of Central West NSW, major regional infrastructure projects (including but not limited to the Newell Highway and Inland Rail) and renewable energy projects associated with the Central West-Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ)."
Quite the carbon footprint, don't you think?
How will this signifiant increase impact the safety along local roads?
All these projects are doing is turning regional NSW into an absolute industrial ghetto dump. Is that what we want Dubbo to become?

This quarry, along with its associated industrial projects, is emblematic of how rural communities are being exploited for the benefit of urban centers and multinational corporations without any long-term consideration for rural livelihoods.

I object to the unsustainable ecological, economic & security practices associated with the activities of the MAAS Group - as it engages in the extraction of resources on such a large scale for the totally disingenuous, ruinable swindle that’s wrecking Australia, depriving us of reliable and affordable power, poisoning our land/water & torturing communities.

When this environmentally damaging project has finished - in 20+ years, what will happen to the quarry/land afterwards? Will this site then become a dumping ground for obsolete/defunct turbine blades, batteries and solar panels? Not very "green"...

In the past, such quarry developments have been viewed as detrimental for the environment, waterways and the state's net zero targets. With this knowledge, why are they seeking to extend this project?

The reliance on unsustainable quarry products for the pre-construction of energy infrastructure shows how this project is perpetuating the false narrative of “green” energy, while consumers continue to suffer from escalating energy poverty.
