My biggest concern is devaluation. Being a neighbouring property to the proposed battery farms, within one kilometre, I am most concerned that the visual aspect, fire, pollutants, contamination, noise / vibration, possible insurance issues could all reduce the value of our property and deter potential buyers should we wish to sell in future. I would like to know what plans you have in place for a large battery fire and controls to contain it. I would also like to know the hazards of a hydrogen explosion, living so close.

This is a short held asset. Where will used batteries be disposed of when the time comes. The planned BESS is in a very close vicinity of 640+ homes and as lithium batteries present fire danger this is a danger to pre-existing dwellings. These fires are not easily put out and therefore numerous buildings and lives are in danger. The noise factor is undesirable for all these homes and residents. Access roads to this proposed development cannot cope with intended traffic. It is bush fire prone land and fire from these batteries emit toxic fumes which is not allowable in residential areas The drainage from the site will go into our water supply and is a potential danger

This development impacts large numbers of people due to its proximity to high density residential area. The visual and potential noise/vibration issues must be satisfactorily addressed to a standard acceptable to the surrounding residences, and not just meet the minimum requirements. This development otherwise has the potential to significantly devalue nearby properties. We want to know what kind of environmental controls there are on potential pollution from the site.

I am concerned with the impact that this battery storage would have on the lifestyle and the peaceful environment that we currently enjoy at our residence.
One of the main concerns is that this project is one of three storage battery projects in our area. The other two being located in close vicinity at Calala Lane and Ascot Calala Lane.
There are huge concerns regarding the construction of the battery storage farm in regard to the increase of traffic during the installation process particularly in relation to the dirt roads that will be used for access.
The safety of the batteries is also a major concern as they are located closely to other residences within the area and the volume of noise that they will generate.
The proposed battery storage systems will have a huge impact on the visual of our environment and the value of our properties.
People have chosen to live in a rural area on small properties to enjoy peace and quiet of their surroundings not to live in an industrial area where the side effects of a battery storage farm is unknown. Particularly if we find ourselves surrounded by not one but three battery storage farms with an unknown number of batteries confirmed at this stage.
Concerns of residents needs to be addressed and considered before this project can continue in its planning.

I strongly oppose the to proposed battery energy system for Burgmann's Lane .
I also do not agree with the other two proposed projects within a few kilometres of the one in Burgmanns Lane.
Renewables do have their place, but not right on the door step of general housing and farming land.
How do the local neighbours feel about it? are they being compensated in any way ?
I'm sure the developers will be making heaps of money, why not ensure the developers pay the neighbours some sort of compensation for the noise factor, the ugly container sheds and of course FULL loss of property value, Can the DPI order them to compensate the neighbours in full? The total property devaluation should be covered.
Lots of concern about fires with batteries over the past few years, is this going to be a problem? Once a fire starts does it need to burn out or can it be put out? I wouldn't want to be living next door to this proposed project.
What about the combined noise, traffic and devaluation of property from the proposed three BESS for this immediate area.
I hope you can see lots of reasons why this proposed project should not proceed. Please consider other locations for the BESS projects particularly this one.

I am very concerned about the proposed battery backup system to be located in Burgmanns Lane Tamworth. I do believe that we need renewable energy , however do we need to put it in a residential area , which has lovely homes and rural outlooks? This new project will ruin the the whole area. What does that mean to the neighbouring land owners? how will it affect them? these battery storage systems are very large , ugly and noisy.

Have the planners and developers of this project looked into providing a noise wall and maybe a lot of trees around the proposed site? will this be part of the actual project? If not, it should be !

I am sure that I wouldn't want to live next door to such a huge project I'm sure it would be hard to sell a house next door if this project does proceed.

What would it do to the property values of the immediate neighbours ? are they being compensated for their loss? I believe the poor neighbours should be fully compensated, I think you are all barking mad if you don't consider the compensation for the immediate neighbours.

What about the traffic? especially it being on a dirt road, are the developers fixing up the road? It does flood along that road.
All things considered, it would be wrong to have this project approved in a residential area, it should be moved well away from such areas, is this a case of profits before people and their homes??? Look after locals not just big business. It is wrong.

While I believe in greener energy I strongly oppose the battery plant and ask for an immediate cease and desist. I've been told by family friends the impact this plant will have on their home and well-being. I understand the plant will devalue properties and be a possible noisy eyesore.

I strongly believe the plant should be relocated out of town. It's current location is causing too many impacts. If it goes ahead local community members will have to look and hear it. There should be a wall built around the entire site to hide its appearance and keep the noise in. Landscaping around the entire site is also required. Home owners must be fully financially compensated for the devaluation of their homes.

Please disclose the predicted funds this plant will make. Please disclose the full funds you will give back to local residents who will lose their life savings/value of their family homes. Action and support is required for those affected.

I've heard news of locals considering going to ministers and media agency's if full action and compensation is not provided. I support our locals I just hope you can too. CEASE AND DESIST THIS PROJECT. RELOCATE TAMWORTH BATTERY PLANTS FURTHER OUT OF TOWN.

I object to the Tamworth battery plant and call for an immediate cease and desist.

My concern is for our locals, their homes and their daily well-being. It's come to my attention the battery plant will significantly devalue homes. It's not okay to allow home owners to loose money and value on their homes due to government projects. I ask for home owners to be fully compensated for the devaluation of their properties.

I ask for a visual and noise wall to be placed around the entire site. I ask for landscaping and full adult trees to be placed around the entire site so it blends in with the environment.

I ask for a fire and safety plan to be shared with locals in the event of a fire. I ask for more information to be shared with locals about battery plant decisions and their ownership. Are they Australian owned and operated?

I ask for government and key project managers to release the estimate value this project will make year on year. I ask government to clearly outline what they will do for locals most affected. Mostly I ask for this plant to not go ahead and for a relocation to be considered. Its located too close to locals and local communities. CEASE AND DESIST NOW.

I strongly object to the project and call for a cease and desist. The battery plant will: *devalue homes *become an eyesore *disrupt locals livelihoods and well-being.

These new battery plants are located too close to local residents and communities. Please consider relocation of all battery sites particularly the Tamworth plant to further out of town.

Please compensate all main homeowners for the full loss on their properties. Many have had estimate home evaluations if the project goes ahead and I ask you to fully compensate them for their massive financial and living costs.

Locals now call on you to add a blockage wall around the entire site. Full landscaping and adult trees around the entire wall are requested. To at the very least lock in noise and hide its appearance. Locals want to look at the land and surrounding landscape NOT hundreds of huge batteries each day. My heart goes out to out community.

My friends want to start to contact media agencies. I hope they do. I hope this project does not go ahead.

A final call out to cease and desist. A final call out to help our locals and particularly those located close to the site. Its pure greed to not help and fully compensate those most affected.

I believe in climate change initiatives HOWEVER I strongly object and oppose to the Tamworth BESS and call for an immediate cease and desist. The battery systems are located far too close to local homes and properties in the area.
Locals do not want to see the battery system. locals to don't want to hear the buzz noise from the battery system.

A note and concern on property devaluation: This plant will massively devalue property - my friends parents have been told they will loose between 500k to 700k on their home if this project goes ahead. They deserve full compensation. I ask government and industry to pay all home owners the full loss of their property devaluation. Home owners have spent their entire lives striving for the homes they have created and this plant will take so much from them.

I ask government and industry to work with locals most affected and created a wall around the entire site to 1: hide the ulgy plant 2. contain its noise. I ask for landscaping to be placed along the outer wall edge with full size/adult trees. Again locals do not - at all want to see or hear from this plant. It's disrupting the environment and day to day living standards of local residents.

Please help those most effected. These plants makes can make millions - please give a small percentage of funds back to the community to make their loss - not as much of a loss. FULL compensation is required and demanded.

Please consider alternate locations for the placement of all new battery locations (Tamworth, Calala and Kingswood). They are too close to local residents and causing too much disruption. They should be placed further out of town where ideally no home owners are severely impacted.

As a person who was born and bred in Tamworth I strongly believe this project will impact the local neighbourhood, environment and broader Tamworth community. In particular it WILL devalue homes with many home owners already been told by local agents that they will loose 20 to 30% off their property upon completion of the project. Government and industry have NOT considered those most vulnerable - home owners close to the site. A small "value benefits" scheme is being offered to some home owners BUT this by no means covers anywhere near the loss they will incur. This battery plant will make millions of dollars! I ask government and industry to work with those most impacted and at the very least compensate home owners for the loss on their property. Many home owners have written property estimates and evaluations - please help these home owners and FULLY compensate them for their loss. These people have worked their whole lives to own these homes and now a big chunk is being taken away. It simply breaks my heart.

In addition - this plant will impact the environment and become a HUGE EYE SORE. Locals didn't buy around the area too look at an ulgy battery 'tip'. This area MUST blend with the environment AT the very LEAST. I ask for a noise and site wall to be placed around the entire site. Landscaping and full sized trees will need to be placed around the entire wall and site SO at the very LEAST - this new build blends in better with the environment and local residents are not as impacted EACH DAY hearing battery/fuzzy sounds AND looking at a battery 'tip' instead of the beautiful regional landscape they thought they would spend the rest of their lives living in.

I'm so incredibly saddened by the placement of the battery plant. New place areas SHOULD be considered. The plant should be located further out of town - it's simply too close to local residents and neighbourhoods. The 3 new sites Calala, Kingswood and Tamworth for proposed battery plants ARE NOT the right locations. Please consider relocating these sites further out of town! They are hurtful from a community, financial and environmental perspective. Local residents are not devastated and may seek media attention if government and industry cannot support OR at the very least compensate locals. What happened to helping all members of community - how DOES the government allow industry to destroy local homes, devalue properties and not offer adequate compensation to cover loss and day to day living experiences (i.e. plant eye-sore, plant noise). FOR a project that will MAKE MILLIONS - can we at the very least help our local residents most impacted. AND help in terms of FULL compensation for loss. I believe in renewable energy BUT not at the cost of human lives, homes and well-being. No matter the number - if it were your family, your friends and your community - wouldn't you at least hope FULL compensation would be provided? How are government and industry getting away with this? There has been minimal compensation offered to date. It's not fair and is so damaging. Could not further express my disappointment.

I was dissapointed at the news of this project, this will have a profoundly negative impact on the residents surrounding this, my mother and father live on Ascot calla Rd and it not only will have an impact on their lives, the extreme devaluation of their land and the negative environmental impacts , but! It will have a direct financial impact on my the Value of that property when it is left to my sister and myself , as someone who grew up in tamworth its apauling to think that the country city that I loved so much would let this happen to its residents, its native flora and fauna, its farming communities and its future.

As the daughter in law of a sensitive receiver to the Tamworth BESS, I am sending a rejection submission of the Tamworth BESS. The impact that this project is having on our family is huge, the mental health strain on my in laws, the environmental factors that comes with this project expecially to the farms surrounding, and the financial impact, the decreasing land value to all properties in the surrounds.
This project is a hazard and safety concern for the community. I reject the submission and will be very disappointed if council do not take the communities concerns into consideration.

I strongly object to this and any other battery farms been installed in this area Tamworth. This area is predominately prime farming, hobby farms and residential and is not aligned in the future expansion of Tamworth residential and small acreage lots.
Of additional concern is what is this development is going to do to the increased cost of insurance for all property owners within a couple of kilometres of the development. With the high cost developments in excess of 100 million dollars, this will surely impact on all residents within the zone.
The potential for fire either resultant of the development especially once in operational phase should not be understated. As all people that live in small and large farming communities are aware of fires that already occur from lightning strikes, local farm rubbish burn offs, controlled burns and arson (It is well known in the Tamworth area that stolen vehicles are dumped in various areas of Tamworth including this area and set on fire--This information is fully available from Tamworth Police station and should be taken into consideration as a potential threat and systems in place to mitigate in the case of this occurring).
In addition to the increased possible insurance costs to all properties within a ?? distance (That will be unfortunately at any insurance companies discretion), the loss in property values for any residentials near these proposed sites will be catastrophic for the property owners. Many people in theses areas have invested their life savings to live there, and why should land be rezoned to install such unnecessary infrastructure--Surely there should be full and transparent planning for the installation of any of these so called renewable energy zones. Surely common-sense can prevail in this an all similar future developments are done in areas that do not destroy local communities and be installed in unproductive land and well away from farming and residential properties.
The widespread rollout of battery farms, solar farms, windfarms in this area and other areas of NSW (and Australia) has not been thought out properly and is NOT in the interests of our community and the long term expansion and viability of our town.
The fact that all these renewables are classed FARMS is far from the truth, they are anything but farms!!
It also appears that these Energy projects involve critical Australian Infrastructure, and the proposed project is owned by foreign countries that are HONG KONG Chinese owned. Since when did Australia allowed foreign own entities controlled by communist countries access to critical Australian infrastructure

The proposed site is not FIT FOR PURPOSE as the location boarders on Residential Estates, the area is predominately prime farming, hobby farms and residential and is not aligned in the future expansion of Tamworth residential and small acreage lots. This area is literally 10 minutes from our city centre and the only rezoning of land should be for the purpose of maintaining the future expansion of Tamworth to allow for the increase in demand for residential and small acreage lots within reasonable access to the city centre.
Of additional concern is what is this development is going to do to the increased cost of insurance for all property owners within a couple of kilometres of the development. With the high cost developments in excess of 100 million dollars, this will surely impact on all residents within the zone.

I object to this submission for Tamworth BES because it will be a detriment to the land that surrounds where I live by
1. visually it will be an eye sore.
2. It will affect any ground water for my animals and also any fires would contaminate drinking water for all people surrounding the BESS
3. The roads are not well maintained for construction of a project like this and in particular the roads are all dirt that lead to the proposed site. Also the noise and traffic due to construction would be horrendous to quiet country roads.

I strongly object to the construction of the BESS as it will turn a beautiful country area into an industrial site.

There are several companies building such projects within the same period and I am concerned the dirt roads will deteriorate and be unable to manage the increased traffic flow as well as create a dust problem. With 3 battery farms in operation and possibly a 4th there must be consideration given to the combined noise impact, with safety assessment and definitive information provided to residents in the area. These developments within 2km of our residence raise significant concerns regarding property devaluation. I am concerned there will be inadequate capacity to contain excess rain and chemical spill, affecting neighbouring properties. Such developments should not be considered within such densely populated areas.

I write with respect to my concerns regarding the proposed Tamworth BESS project. According to the developers Environmental Impact Statement, the BESS facility will have 136 battery containers and 68 PCS units covering over 20 acres. There are 665 homes within a 2 km radius of this proposed plant. The noise that this project will create, 24 hours per day, exceeds the acceptable level at all times for the closest homes including the sleep disturbance criterion. The developer "Hopes" mitigation measures will help, but this is not guaranteed and offers very little reassurance to the local residents affected by this project.
Traffic in the area is expected to increase by 46-62% with the primary route being via Whitehouse Lane, Marsden Park Rd, Burgess Lane and Burgmann's lane, which the developer says will have "no real impact on the roads" These are unsealed roads and there is absolutely no doubt that during periods of excessive dry there will be major increase in dust levels and excessive wet periods will result in degradation of the road surface resulting in increased road maintenance costs of which local rate payers will bear the burden.
The Lot is bushfire prone land, with 38 homes within 1km and, as with electric vehicle fires, they must burn themselves out if ignited as they are unable to be extinguished. These fires also emit toxic gas. Drainage from the site is directed into Goonoo Goonoo creek which then flows into the Peel river.
There is another bigger plant planned 400m from the Kingswood BESS with all of the same issues mentioned above being relevant.
My biggest concern is there has been inadequate transparency around land acquisition, insufficient examination of the impact on human health of these developments being located in close proximity to the satellite communities of Calala and Kingswood estate and the lack of clarity on whether our community will benefit from being able to access energy from these storage facilities or if it goes to the national grid focused on servicing our capital cities. In addition, productive agricultural land will be detrimentally impacted by this development and the proposed solar farms in close proximity to the BESS development. There seems to be an appetite for a centralised solution to our green energy transition, whereas a decentralised approach should be considered.

The noise that will be created 24 hours a day exceeds acceptable levels at all times for the closest homes including the sleep disturbance criterion. Traffic in the area will increase by 46-62% which will affect four main connecting roads, some of which are not sealed. The lot is bush fire prone land with 38 homes within 1km and if any fires are deemed electrical, they will not be able to be extinguished at all, or without disastrous results. These fires would also emit toxic gas. Draining from the site will go into Goonoo Goonoo Creek and then into the Peel River.
All of these points will have a devastating impact on the environment, including the abundant birdlife and bees, and the people living in the designated areas, now and in the future. More consideration needs to be given to this project and a greater public awareness made before anything goes ahead. None of these projects should be anywhere near a regional town, nor on productive land. There needs to be assurance that each and every local resident who will be immensely affected by this project going ahead, absolutely understands the ramifications.
Thank you.
