I oppose this development as I have not received any information to suggest that the noise and vibration emitted, particularly in addition to the other nearby proposed renewable energy developments, will not exceed safe and tolerable limits. The impact of this extends beyond health. It also will inevitably reduce property values and deter potential buyers. It is additionally an eyesore and danger given the fire hazards and difficulty extinguishing same, when they are located in such close proximity to residential areas.

From the developers Environmental Impact Statement:
- The BESS facility will have 136 battery containers and 68 PCS units covering over 20 acres.
- There are 665 homes within a 2km radius of this plant, including our home
- The noise that this project will create, 24hrs a day, exceeds acceptable levels at all times for the closest homes including the sleep disturbance criterion. The developer “hopes” mitigation measures will help.
Hope «  is NOT enough!
- Traffic in the area to increase by 46-62% with the primary route being via Whitehouse Lane, Marsden Park Rd, Burgess and Burgmanns Lanes which the developer says will have “no material impact on the roads”. They have obviously not seen the unsealed roads after rain!
- The lot is bush fire prone land, with 38 homes within 1km and, as with electric vehicle fires, they must burn themselves out if ignited as they are unable to be extinguished. These fires also emit toxic gas.
- Drainage from the site will go into Goonoo-Goonoo Creek and then into the Peel river.

There is another, bigger plant, planned 400m from this one (Kingswood BESS).

No one in Sydney would like Batteries stored in their backyard…nor do we!

I strongly object to this eyesore been constructed in this beautiful area of Tamworth. The site is literally a few hundred meters from major residential and adjacent properties are small farms and hobby farms. The proposed location of this site goes against all planning for residential and small acreage lots in the Tamworth Region. With the aim of our councils Blueprint 100 plan, this whole area will be required to become residential and small acreage lots moving forward. Installing such a monstrosity in this area which will create major issues for the organic growth of our area beggars belief
The potential for serious ecological and environmental damage has not in my opinion had serious long term studdies performed as this so called Lithium Phosphate batteries to be installed have only had 2 years of factory testing acording to recent Valent Energy comments. Long term operation in the field of these systems HAS not been done, there is no test of time so to speak--Who really knows the long term impacts.
Valent Energy also maintains that once the site is completed it will be fully remote operation, so the site is UNMANED!!!, so how will this foreign owned company attend to a serious issue if their remote system fails. Jet plane, helicopter from where??
I am also led to believe that the developers parent company is Hong Kong Chinese owned. Is it in Australia's interest to have foreigned owned entities in control (and apparently REMOTE CONTROL) of critical Australian infrastructure.
Our town does not need land rezoned to allow this or any similar type of development, and the Department of Planning and Infrastructure has a responsibility to ensure land is not rezoned to allow this type of development to ever occur.

I am opposed to the construction of all solar farm/battery storage/wind turbine projects in areas where the amenity and well being of the established population is placed at risk. The Tamworth Battery Energy Storage System, once established, will impact greatly on both the human population and the diverse population of all wildlife in the area. If all the earmarked renewable projects go ahead in the Tamworth area, over 3500 acres of land will be absorbed. This land would undoubtedly have been available for the development of residential and /or rural residential lots, and also the development of primary production enterprises. All this at a time when land availability for housing in regional areas is on a downward trend. The other major consideration is the taking away of rural land from the primary production industry not to mention the large areas unavailable for the natural habitat of the insect/bird/animal species that abound in the area. There are acres and acres of land further west of our major agricultural centres that would be suited for these types of developments that would be cheaper and where the projects would not have the impacts on either human activities, such as agriculture, or indeed on the natural environment.
Furthermore, I have seen first hand, with both friends and family, the inconsiderate way in which these companies conduct their business with landholders. Treachery is a strong word but does not begin to describe the contemptuous way in which representatives of these companies deal with holders of land they seek to acquire for their projects. Another point to consider is the fracture of communities that derives from the process of land acquisition by these companies. Neighbours become enemies where once were friends, families become disjointed and broken, and the very character of the people and subsequently the towns can deteriorate or indeed become splintered.

I object to the project on the grounds it is much to close to residential areas of Calala and to the centre of Tamworth and is not zoned for battery storage or industry. Calala is expanding and a battery storage area in the middle or edge will be a serious hazard to the people and area. The Electrical magnetic Field can and has be proven to course cancer and who is going to foot the compensation claims. What about fires and the pollution this will cause.Toxic smoke blowing over the suburbs of Tamworth. We have seen in Victoria recently the fire in one of its battery storage areas and the consequence it has. The Lithium burns and is all but impossible to extinguish. The amount of fires from Lithium Ion batteries just continues to climb. We also have major sporting arenas in the area and plans to expand even more as well as the TREC and ALEC centres. Why are we going down this road of net zero when CO2/Climate change are all based on a lie. No one can come up with the science to prove CO2 is coursing climate change when we are actually going into a global cooling period. Are we to send our country broke following these crazy ideas.
I as a tax payer do not like my money wasted on false ideas and do hope the Dept. Planning do not let this project go forward.

My oppositions to this proposed project are many but in particular I am very concerned about the use of industrial lithium batteries. They require many minerals to be mined, including in wilderness areas, that are toxic and, in some cases, require the use of slave labour to keep costs down. The recycling of thousands of tonnes of lithium batteries is not yet viable and, due to their short economic lives, will pollute our environments in a few short years. They pose fire and toxic smoke risks to fire-fighters and nearby residents and towns that will continue to occur despite the claims by the Proponent.

I oppose this project because the supply chain involves the use of slave labour. Cobalt and copper artisanal mining relies in slave labour in the DRC and the production of components in China uses slave labour. Stop these degrading projects.

New energy and battery plants will devalue homes and no compensation is being provided to home owners affected.
BESS plant being built too close to residential areas.
Battery plant will have a detrimental effect on the environment and will be an eye sore with its large infrastructure.
Noise created by running the battery plant will affect local residents.
Extra traffic will affect local streets that provide access to construction of plant, with both noise , dust and heavy trucks damaging road surfaces.

I object strongly to this development. It must be a controlled action. The toxic risk from battery malfunction is to high and will endanger the lives of local people, animals and the surrounds.
