The project is a vast overdevelopment of this site with too many units crammed in. The size of the buildings and number of units will have a negative impact on the amenity of the area for local residents and those accessing Bondi Junction.
The floor space ratio should not exceed 1:1.
The building height should not to exceed 12 metres.
The number units should be reduced.

I object to the Uniting War Memorial Hospital Project. I have lived across the road from the site for over 50 years and I object to the increased congestion, pollution, noise and traffic caused by this project. Waverley is already congested with Schools and Bondi junction shops this project will only add to this congestion. Also it will negatively impact the parking in Church Street which is already limited parking by the busy construction work that will take up all our council parking spaces. Additionally it will negatively impact the War memorial Hospital with all the noice congestion and traffic from the project. Our community does not need this project to negatively impact our lives.

The proposed redevelopment of the War Memorial Hospital site is a major step forward in the provision of aged care and community services in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. I'm a descendant of Ebenezer and Jeanie Vickery who constructed the magnificent late Victorian mansion Edina in 1884 . Uniting's proposal is entirely consistent with the intentions of the family when they formally gave the site to the Methodist Church in 1922. It is also consistent with the aged care services provided until recently on the site by the Uniting Church. The decision to provide aged care services was taken in the 1960s when Frank Vickery, who in 1919 initiated the transfer by the family, was still alive and a member of the War Memorial Hospital Board, and so there's a direct line between the original donation, the use the former Edina estate for aged care and Uniting's proposal to make better and more effective use of the site in the provision of aged care and community services.
When the Edina estate was handed over to the Methodist Church, heritage issues weren't an issue of concern to the wider community. This has changed over the years, and the preservation of heritage is widely accepted as a vital element of the society in which we now live. I have written a book Family, Faith and Fortune. The Edina Estate (details attached) and, together with two other family members I've liaised closely with Uniting to ensure that the site's heritage has been appropriately preserved. I'm satisfied that an appropriate balance has been struck between the proposed development and the preservation of the site's heritage.

This is fantastic. A great outcome for the area. As a previous owner of property adjacent to this site, I often wondered why so many closed doors, too many fences. Open up the site and share with the community. Well, Uniting has certainly done that , and I applaud their approach to community engagement, connection with country and local heritage, the wider aged community, the retention of key heritage assets, the safe keeping of Edina as a legacy to the community via the church, and so many more wonderful features. All i say is "Bring it on please".
I fully support the Uniting War Memorial Hospital redevelopment, as this will be a continuing legacy first created by the original family who lived in the estate from 1839. The redevelopment will further the sites significance as an estate once originally the War Memorial and now utilised for aged care, retirement living and community engagement. The plans and redevelopment highlight the legacy that has been retained, the community connection, and the openness of the Uniting Church to develop the site for all the occupants and safeguard for all future generations.

The War Memorial Hospital has been a long time neighbour of Waverley College and has been an
important part of the fabric of the Waverley Streetscape providing much needed health care facilities to the
local and wider community. We believe that the proposed changes are sympathetic to the surrounding
environment and recognise the heritage significance of the properties on the Eastern boundary which face
the School site, and at the same time provide modern and improved facilities across the wider Hospital
grounds.

Hello there,
I currently live on Short Street in Waverley which sits about 20 metrers off Church street which is one of the boundaries of the Uniting War Memorial Hospital Waverley.
I am objecting to the development on a couple of different grounds:
> Church street is one of the last few places visitors to my place can park in the region, the area is surrounded by busy streets with heavily restricted parking time limits which makes it a real challenge for people who want to visit our place. By putting in a such dense development in the area this will undoubtley have overflow traffic implications on our streets as people wont want to pay for parking at the War Memorial Hospital. This will make a very challenging parking environment all but impossible.
> the other factor here is the through put on Church Street. We have three schools that either border or sit within 100 meters. The street disects two main streets in Carrington and Bronte and really does choke up during school run between 8-9 and 3-4. Adding additional demand via this major hospital expansion will make that road very frustrating for all involved not to mention my family who need to get down that road to access our car park
> Finally, i would say that such a high density development is out of character with the area, this is a heritage area that's a great example of how aesthetically impressive Sydney can be. Putting in modern high rise builds like this would jar with the street scape.
Thanks,
Andrew

I support the project but have three comments.
1. Entry and exit should only be from Bronte Rd. Birrell st is too congested with school traffic and kids.
2. The building height should be restricted to 6 storey to reduce neighbour impact.
3. Any development should include a complete remake of Botany St Bondi Junction. It’s a very dangerous street with narrow footpaths and speeding cards moving close to 100s of kids daily. Moreover, it’s asthetically the worst street in the area.
