I am strongly in favour of this project. Australia is rapidly in need of renewable energy generation outside of daylight hours. Based on the assessment that the project will meet the environmental and planning requirements for a state significant development I see no reason why this project should not be approved.
Wind projects provide a reliable source of energy during the evening and night time periods which is critical to the national electricity market's energy security requirements as solar PV will not be able to address energy consumption during typical peak times. I also recognise that this project will provide significant local community benefits through an administered fund and will also improve Australia's pathway to achieving net zero targets.
I strongly endorse this project and others like it that accelerate our transition away from coal and gas fired generation and reduce our carbon emissions.
I am also in favour of industries that will foster local employment in the next generation of energy production.

Re: Winterbourne Wind Farm\Application No. SSD-10471
To whom it may concern:
I fully support the Winterbourne Wind Project. I am 74 years of age have lived in Walcha all my life. Our farm,"Cairnie"has been in our family since 1863; running fine wool sheep and beef cattle. I have recently handed over to my sons ( 5th generation). We are set down in the Winterbourne Wind EIS as a turbine host and we feel that the turbines will " dove tail" in with the sheep and cattle operation without any worries giving us diversify in our operation and income,
Farming in general over the years has not been all plain sailing with the odd good year mixed with fires, floods, unpredictable markets( sometimes market crashes)and droughts of ever increasing frequency and severity. Our terms of trade are decreasing and the population of small rural communities are decreasing and becoming older.
In the past there has not been many opportunities to diversify rural economies and I see the development of the Renewable Energy industry as giving rural Australia a second chance to grow in all aspects.
Along with reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the order of 1.8 million tonnes CO2 equivalents per annum the Winterbourne Wind project will inject in excess of $350 million wages (direct & indirect) PA during construction and more than $25 million (direct& indirect) PA during operation, along with a diverse income stream to land holders that will part way to diversifying and drought proofing their business's.

Further, a Community Enhancement Fund , to be managed by the Walcha Council, provided by the Developer will provide $1 million at the commencement of the project and $750,000 PA for the life of the project. These funds are indexed to inflation, and every MW over 600MW, the Winterbourne Wind will pay $1000/MW. These funds will be a huge boost to the Walcha and Uralla communities in helping the disadvantaged, sporting clubs and should be used as scholarships for education and training to encourage Young People to stay, grow and prosper in rural communities.
There are going to be problems along the way, there will be disruptions to traffic flow, some people don't like the look of them, and some think they are noisy. I think all these questions have been answered in the EIS, or we can solve them along the way.
What ever way you look at the Project the advantages far outweigh any disadvantage and it will be a substantial stimulus to the Local economy that has been screaming out for something like this for years.
Governments of Australia are mandating we reduce our emissions and transition away from fossil fuel generation; Liddell (1680MW) to close next year & Eraring (2880) to close 2025; renewable energy development us playing "catchup". We all need and expect electricity to be available when we flick the switch, so I respectfully urge the NSW Government grant approval to this Project in it's entirety as soon as possible

Thank you for the opportunity to have my say
