Service updates

Enhancements to existing functionality 

  • The list of users assigned to a council within the organisation hierarchy service have a default view of ‘Active users’. This change was requested by councils to assist with the management of their resources on the NSW Planning Portal.  
  • Additional fields have been added to the council Short-term rental accommodation report to assist with the enforcement of the policy. These fields are applicable day caps, original registration date and date property was renewed. 
  • Additional tool tips within the BASIX service to assist applicants with passing the ‘Thermal performance – DIY’ section. 

Bugs and fixes 

The following minor fixes have been made to address known technical issues   

  • Critical stage inspection completion dates for complying development certificates will display in AEST within the system generated documents and the inspection details tab.   
  • An additional document category ‘Other Documents’ is available for applicants to select on the ‘Requirements and uploads’ screen for complying development certificates. This does not apply to returned applications.
  • An additional document category ‘Other Documents’ is available for selection by councils and certifiers when requesting additional information for a complying development certificate. This does not apply to returned applications.
  • Critical stage inspection completion dates for construction certificates will display in AEST within the system generated documents and the inspection details tab.   
  • The error preventing the publication of exhibition details on the NSW Planning Portal ‘DA Exhibitions’ page has been resolved. This error was previously impacting development applications where there were multiple development application types.
  • Strata bond cases listed on the ‘Related cases’ tab and the ‘Expected completion notice’ screen within the Intention to seek an occupation certificate service if the developer selects ‘Yes, I have already paid the strata building bond for this development’ to the question ‘Do you plan to register a strata plan or a strata plan of a subdivision?’. 
  • STRA Property Council Report has been optimized to improve performance and reduce timeouts, ensuring faster and more reliable report generation.
  • The error message displayed when a unit number is not provided for a short-term rental accommodation property, no longer displays when that information has been provided. This will allow the registrant to proceed with their application.
  • The trigger for the booking threshold reminder system-generated email notification in the short-term rental accommodation service has been updated.
  • Changes to the alternative assessment material score will be visible in the BASIX report and BASIX certificate. 
  • ‘Off form concrete’, ‘single skin autoclave aerated concreate’ and ‘single skin masonry’ have been added to the construction type dropdown on the ‘External walls’ screen of the BASIX application.
  • When a BASIX alterations and additions certificate is being revised, an error message will display on screen to advise the applicant that the lodgement was done over 3 months ago and they cannot proceed.
  • When a project is revised, the calculation of the thermal, water, energy and materials scores has been updated to include lift bank details.
  • When a BASIX application is copied, the previously entered heating /cooling energy rating details will be pre-populated on the new applications’ ‘Energy details screen’.
  • The value within the ‘Submitted date’ column on the application dashboard will display in AEST for BASIX applications.
  • The ‘Low emission’ dropdown option is visible to the BASIX applicant when the construction type is ‘Insulated concrete form (ICF)’. 
  • The BASIX engine, used to calculate the scores for BASIX applications and to generate the BASIX report, has been updated to include: 
    • missing postcodes
    • increased U-value for the skylight commitment from 2.5 to 2.9
    • 5% tolerance between the floor and roof area data entered in the project details and materials details sections
    • updated the hot water commitment which removed the calculation failure on the ‘Energy details’ screen. 
  • U-value and solar heat gain coefficient values for frame glass combination (Aluminium frame and single glazing; timber frame and single glazing; Steel frame and single glazing) will show as “undecided” on the BASIX report and BASIX certificate if the user selects “undecided’.
  • Pool and spa heating details will only populate in alternative assessments BASIX certificates if pool and spa heating details are input.

Application Programming Interface (API)    

A housekeeping update was made to the Online complying development certificate API v1 as part of this release. The error preventing the ‘ProvideDevSpec’ operation from successfully running has been resolved, and the application will now progress to the next stage.
