Environmental Planning Instrument pdf maps now available on the Portal

In an exciting digital development, and in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, all current and future Environmental Planning Instruments (EPIs) are now being hosted on the NSW Planning Portal.

Our dedicated pages provide access to Local Environmental Plans (LEPs), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPPs), and Regional Environmental Plans (REPs).

As part of this project, the Department worked with the Parliamentary Counsel Office (PCO) to migrate historic PDF maps from its site to the NSW Planning Portal – with redirects helping users navigate the changes.

With the initial step - migrating the existing PDFs from the Parliamentary Counsel Office website to the NSW Planning Portal – now complete, our team will look to enhance our digital mapping service (the Spatial Viewer) to support the plan-making process so that in future certified EPI data collected through the ePlanning Digital Services will be presented digitally throughout the amendment process, including access to ongoing historical data.

This means the Spatial Viewer will become the single source of truth for maps in NSW and the process of creating PDF maps will be ‘retired’.
