BASIX tool benefits from upgrades

27 November 2020

BASIX

A number of updates have been implemented to improve the performance for all BASIX users.

The changes have been made following consultation with members of BASIX Thermal Comfort Protocol Working Group, the Australian Passive House Association and other stakeholders.

The key benefits to BASIX users from the updates are:

  • incorporating innovations in technology into the BASIX Tool
  • providing greater flexibility in the way BASIX requirements can be met
  • better aligning some of the BASIX requirements with those that apply in other jurisdictions, and
  • improving the user experience by reducing the likelihood of an alternative assessment for secondary dwellings.
