Proposed "Major Events" clause

Proposal is to introduce a specific clause in the Byron LEP 1988 to control Major Events in the Shire. Specifically the draft clause proposes to prohibit major events in three zones (2(a) Residential, 7(c) Water Catchment and 7(f2) Urban Coastal Lands) where a place of assembly is permitted. The clause also limits the number of events to two a year but not at the same time as other major event, during Christmas school holiday period, on land subject to a 1:100 flood event or that will adversely impact on biodiversity.
