State Voluntary Planning Agreements

A State Voluntary Planning Agreement (SVPA) is a planning tool that allows planning authorities and developers to work together.

The department has developed a digital service for State Voluntary Planning Agreements (SVPA). This new service enables developers and relevant parties to lodge and track a SVPA application  online via the NSW Planning Portal.

The service ensures faster approval times, providing greater transparency for all stakeholders. It also encourages flexibility and innovation in infrastructure so the whole community can benefit from proposed developments.

Using the SVPA digital service

Prior to using the SVPA digital service, new users will be required to register for a NSW Planning Portal account. Users with existing SVPAs or SVPA applications will need to contact the department to have them linked to their accounts.

Once registered and linked to any existing SVPA applications, users will be able to log on to their account to:

  • complete an online SVPA application,
  • track an existing SVPA request and/or;
  • respond to requests for additional information when required.

If you require any further help view the Quick Reference Guide.
