Mod 13 - Mine Life Extension

The proposed extension is a significant win for the Cowal Gold Mine and for the communities of West Wyalong and surrounding districts. The Cowal mine has long been a committed and involved supporter of the local community. Continuation of the mine operations will provide ongoing meaningful employment for a significant number of people - in our case, 44 people, 4 of whom live locally in West Wyalong itself, along with the flow on economic benefits for the broader local economy and community.

I am greatly in support of extending the life of the Cowal Gold Mine and thereby increasing the duration of the benefit it provides to the local community.

Great company, great for the community, the money it put back into the region is second to none. It need to go ahead to support the towns around the mine

This extension will ensure job security for myself and my family for several years to come.

The prolonging of the mines life is imperative for the survival of local surrounding towns in terms of their economies. Cowal is a major employer locally and the increased trade it brings to the region goes un-matched.

I would like to submit my positive support for the Lake Cowal Gold Mine extension Mod 13.
I have had the privilege of working at the Lake Cowal mine since it first commenced operation in 2006. During this time I have observed significant positive growth within the local communities of West Wyalong, Condobolin and Forbes. The Lake Cowal Gold mine continues to operate with good working relationships with landholders, community organisations, Indigenous community, business and local state government agencies.
Given the huge social economic benefits, the ongoing commitment to work place safety and strong environmental record, I see no reason not to support a further extension to operations at Lake Cowal Mine.

This proposed extension will be a great thing for our community and district. Giving my children the chance for employment in this area in the future as well as keeping local businesses opened, cowal gold mine is the best thing ever to happen to west Wyalong and I have lived here my entire life.

I believe the proposed application to extend the currently approved mine life will be of positive benefit for the communities of West Wyalong and the surrounding areas. With the mine life extension this will then provide ongoing and meaningful employment to those in and around the West Wyalong area.
I have personally seen the active engagement that Evolution Mining are involved in on a daily basis for both the community and the surrounding environment and believe that with this commitment going forward all parties will benefit from this proposed mine extension.

I strongly support the extension to the life of the Cowal Gold Mine for continuation of the significant positive impacts to the local and regional community.

Highly support the extension to create jobs for our town

The Cowal gold mine is a text book example of how mining should be completed in an environmentally sensitive area. The project has had no impact on the environment in over 10 years of operations. It provides nothing but positive social impacts on the region. The project directly and indirectly supports three local government areas and the major centres of West Wyalong, Condobolin and Forbes.

I approve of the Mine Life Extension, think it will be a positive move for this community.

Cowal Gold Operations - Mine Life Modification

I refer to your letter of 15th November 2016 providing details on the Cowal Gold Operations Mine Life Modification Environmental Assessment and advising that the exhibition period for lodging comments on this project closes on 8th December 2016.

I am very pleased to advise that Council, at its meeting held on 15th November 2016, resolved unanimously to support the proposed modification on the following grounds:

* The current mine operations being conducted by Evolution Mining provide a very significant contribution to the economic and social well being of the Bland Shire and the proposed Modification can only enhance this situation.

* Evolution Mining is proving to be a very good and effective `corporate citizen' with the implementation of a number of community support initiatives and knowing that the life of the mine can be extended by a number of years will add some certainty and stability to these existing support programs.

* The prolonged presence of Evolution within the Bland Shire will also benefit the social capacity building opportunities within our community.

Council looks forward to the Government's approval of your application and the continuation of the excellent working relationship that has formed between our two organisations.

This extension of the mine is a must for West Wyalong and its survival to flourish as a town. More people employed means that small businesses will thrive as well as maybe new homes built.Money will be spent in town instead of out of town.
