Mod 13 - Mine Life Extension

This is the golden future for our children and grandchildren. This is the golden egg so anyone who votes against the mine is a GOOSE.

Allowing this submission to go ahead will continue to create, and maintain jobs for the hard working individuals that make up a very good organisation, and the residents of the surrounding areas. From my experience working here at Lake Cowal Gold Mine, I have great confidence in the professionals working here, and their ability to abide to, and above the governing standards set out by both government and stakeholder interest groups. The people that work here are part of the community, and hold a keen interest in maintaining said standards for themselves and for all Australians, and take the management of the surrounding ecosystems very seriously. These standards will not deteriorate after the next extension is approved, they will only strengthen.

I am in support of the mine modification as it is my understanding that it will bring more employment to the mine and therefore the possibility of more families to our shire. I am a small business owner and the mine currently rent numerous houses through our real estate. I am in support of the mine modification as it is my understanding that it could prolong the life of the mine and therefore ensuring jobs and growth into the future for West Wyalong.

I support the Cowal Extension, as the mine provides job opportunities within our area. If an extension is to take place, there is a possibility this could provide future employment and help with the growth of our community.

Evolution is a major employer in the Bland Shire and surrounds, and contributes significantly to the local community. Many locals are employed at the Cowal Gold Mine and the mine life extension will ensure the continuation of a stable and prosperious future for West Wyalong.

Evolution has proven that environmental management is a high priority at Cowal and they always go beyond just achieving compliance.

I support this application. The Cowal Gold Operation is a world class, open cut gold mine that has been operating successfully for over 10 years, with an exceptional record of environmental performance.

As an industry leader, it was the first mine in the world to achieve operational & pre-operational International Cyanide Management Code and maintains an ISO14001 certified environmental management system.

Cowal also supports over 300 workers that reside predominately in the local towns surrounding the mine, contributing significantly to the social and economic fabric of the shires.

Extending the life of the Cowal Gold Operation will bring further certainty to the people and businesses of the Forbes, Lachlan and Bland shires.
