Department of Planning & Infrastructure
GPO Box 39,
SYDNEY NSW 2001
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing regards the proposed wind farm...Crudine Ridge Wind Farm - project Application No. 11_0033.
I wish to lodge my objection to this wind farm proposal as stated in the email submission. The wind farm turbines will pollute the visual beauty of the landscape. Their sheer size and number will create an industrial wasteland to a picturesque rural community. I have looked at the provided photographs/schematics of the wind farm project and strongly believe that they do not accurately display the true size of the turbine towers in relation to the landscape.
I work in the design field, teach design and have experience working with doctored photographs using various computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
The images of the projected wind farm do not accurately show the turbines to their proposed true scale in the environment. They are deliberately misleading. Even the quality of the image and the subtle way that they are printed do not give a true representation of the visual impact that these turbines will have upon the landscape and surrounding area. These photographs are filtered...and in the design or media industry these kind of images are used to soften/blur the true look of things. For example, aging movie stars request filters to be used to hide the appearance of wrinkles on camera.
I ask, "What is the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm trying to hide here?" The true look of what these wind turbines will look like in the environment!
Clear focused images should have been provided.
Please keep in mind that the people living close to these turbines will not be looking at them every day through filters nor doctored photographs...they will be looking at them in reality!
I have been visiting the area of Pyramul for 6 years. The proposed wind farm will visually ruin the natural environment, not to mention the damage caused by the construction crews and trucks having to enter the area by the already dangerous dirt country roads. The roads are narrow and I fail to see how those long turbines and their towers can be trucked into the area without the removal of trees by the roadside. Some of these trees are very old and while they are beside the roadside, they also provide shade and shelter for animals in a joining paddocks. These trees are irreplaceable to the farming community. Flora and fauna will also obviously be removed where these towers will be constructed.
The Crudine Ridge Wind Farm will permanently reduce the value of the nearby property. This devaluation of property will mean that residents will not be able to sell their properties in the future for a reasonable price. Many farmers eventually sell their farms and move closer to cities and towns when elderly and unable to work the land. Aging residents will be forced to either sell their property at a pittance of what it was once worth with a substantial reduction to their retirement or they will be forced to live the rest of their days on their properties away from necessary hospitals and medical care.
In summary, I believe that the proposed Crudine Ridge Wind Farm is of great detriment to Pyramul and the local surrounding area. As such, I wish to strongly object to the wind farm development at Crudine Ridge.
Kind Regards,
