HVO North Open Cut Coal Continuation Project

The continuisation of HVO North would be a major benefit to not just the community but to my family as it keep me in a job an in the lifestyle I have given my family

I have worked at HVO for 26 years and plan to retire here. HVO has provided not for just my family but my extended family with my father, brother, father in law, brother in law and others from my extended daily working here.
HVO also supports the local community by using suppliers from local businesses to the greater Hunter Valley, NSW and Australia.
HVO also support many local community organizations through the local grants fund.
Recently HVO has supported locals in need with donations of Christmas gifts built by the HVO employees at the November training days. Donation were also made to those effected by the recent flooding in far away regions of NSW.
As you can see from my submission if this HVO continuation is rejected it won’t just effect the 1600 direct employees and a couple of thousand indirect employees of suppliers , it will also effect many who HVO indirectly support through the charity work. HVO also pays a large amount of royalties to the government which goes towards , education, health and policing of the whole state.

HVO do alot for the community and should be part of a long term vision for coal in NSW

This project will provide opportunity for myself to establish and maintain a career in mining.

This mine needs to be kept open in order to provide cheap electricity to NSW, without it, the living costs will continue to soar.
The mine provides many jobs and keeps people living in country towns, allowing small businesses to stay open. Even businesses that aren't related to the mine will be negatively impacted if majority of the towns population move to seek work, or have no income, thus effecting the entire region of the Hunter Valley.
The mine abides by its environmental regulations and doesn't impact the surrounding towns negatively.

In conclusion, it is vital that this mine gets continued as it provides an income for thousands of people, allows hundreds of businesses to operate and provides NSW with a lot of electricity that otherwise cannot be created cheaply, if at all.

This Project will supply economic benefit to the surrounding towns including Singleton. It will also provide a place of employment which is necessary for the completion of my degree.

To me the mining industry helps communities more then any government in all forms together ever could.and this isn’t about my job cos I have my own business as well but it’s about building communities.

Hvo supports our economy with as little environmental impact as possible

I support this project as Hvo both directly and indirectly employs many people in the region. It is a real draw card for mining in NSW and I know personally that hvo takes safety, community and environment very seriously. This expansion is crucial to mine and a lot of my friends and families future.

I have just started as a trainee at HVO . I support the project and it is responsible for 1500 jobs currently...It need to continue please

I have just this month(Feb 2023) started at HVO as a haul truck driver. HVO will be a career that will keep me local and provide for myself and my family. I want this mining lease to continue so that I can contribute to the local community and have a job that will continue to grow

I support the HVO North Continuation Project as the proposal stands for what HVO does. I am confident that HVO will continue providing employment for local Hunter residents, provide support to local communities and to local businesses, and also improve the current road system for access from/to New England Highway and the Golden Highway.

I support the project because HVO provides support for so many workers/external vendors and big on providing funding for community projects.

HVO supports my family, allows me and supports me being an active member of my community. The butterfly acffect of the operation into the hunter valley is huge we support local businesses weather it buy fuel or crib on the way to work or the amount of small business that provide goods or services to this operation.

I support this project.
HVO has a great record for rehabilitation of past mining areas.
HVO employs 1500 direct jobs.
HVO is a large contributor to the NSW economy

HVO has supported my family for the last 5 years and helped with putting my kids through school in the local community.
My family also support the local sporting groups within the community.
I like working at HVO and the management team do care about the local community, environment, and its employees' and provide regular updates on the mines position around safety and environment.

I’m a contractor that works at HVO and this extension will secure my working future

I believe coal mining is vital to the future. I have seen first hand that HVO, and it’s mining practices, bring far more positives to the extended community, from supporting thousands of families and businesses during difficult times, as well as offering training and support to families. HVO is a responsible mine. It looks after the environment providing rehabilitation to its cuts, and it looks after the health and well-being of its employees, and it keeps Australia heading in the right direction

I think it’s a fantastic idea
