HVO South Open Cut Coal Continuation Project

HVO employs thousands of individuals and contractors. If this continuation does not go ahead, the flow on effect to the Hunter valley, Maitland and surrounding community will be financially affected. This will directly impacting many small businesses negatively.

I run a commercial and residential painting business and this will directly impact my company including the 8 locals that I employ.

My husband is employed by HVO and his income supports our family, creating a stable and reliable income

I have worked at HVO for 2 years now and this continuation project will see out my working career and will provide financial stability for my family and the people I work with for alot of years to come

For long term employment of over 1500 hundred workers.

This project will support me and my family to continue living and growth in our community

I support the continuation of mining jobs in the Hunter Valley and will continue to do so, we can't afford as a country to keep closing industries down the line at centerlink is to long

The HVO Continuation Project is important for keeping local jobs, supporting businesses, and strengthening the Hunter Valley economy. It provides stable employment, contributes royalties and taxes that fund essential services, and backs community programs. Continuing HVO supports workers, families, and the region, while building skills and opportunities for the next generation.

I would like to say I am in agreement of the continuing plan and feel this is extremely important for our community.

As a father of 2 young children, this project will continue to support my family as well as my direct community. I have an extensive amount of friends and family that rely on the industry and HVO operations in particular. As one of the biggest operations in the Hunter Valley, it will sustain and encourage the local economy as well as ensuring the community is functioning with the financial support from donations and community support.

Having been in the Hunter area for 7 years, the support for the local area and community is needed and this will help all industries around
