This project is not in the public interest. It is destroying the environment in order to produce unreliable expensive power. We want base load power. Give the wind turbines to the people that vote for them.

Fragmenting habitat, extensive land clearing, too much cement, spreading BPA from eroding turbine blades across surrounding land and water, the transmisssion losses will be excessive, too much overbuild required given that wind turbines only run at 30% capacity, all components imported, too much diesel will be used in construction and operation, huge negative impact on vulnerable/protected/threatened native flora and fauna likely leading to more extinctions, excessive water usage for cement production and dust suppression, vast amounts of toxic waste.

Bascially this whole thing is a SCAM.

The Mallee wind farm is another wind monster development that city voters won't accept anywhere in sight of their own homes. It will wreck regional natural and rural landscapes, destroy native habitat and undermine community cohesion.
At 30% capacity it will only provide power for 2 full days per week. This will contribute to the severe ongoing degradation of the east coast power grid, due to the replacement of baseload power with unreliable region wrecking 'renewables'.

Submission objecting to the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery (MWFB) being granted a permit and being allowed to be built and it should be declared a controlled action.
The Mallee Wind Farm and Battery is going to permanently pollute in some way 57,330 hectares of Australian agricultural land. It should be considered a crime to permanently pollute agricultural land, as the fact is that Agricultural Land is annually able to rejuvenate itself and continue to produce food and fibre, is a miracle, and it should be kept as one of the most priceless, uses of land in Australia. If it is fertilized and nurtured it will continue to annually rejuvenate itself, and produce agricultural produce, for the period from 2025 to 2125, a period of one hundred years and then indefinitely.

In estimating the loss of economic agricultural production from the the MWFB it will be done in two sections.
A. The first is the concentrated site of 445 hectares. If it is estimated a hectare of the agricultural land will annually produce agricultural production worth a gross $346 per hectare. For the 445 hectares of the proposed the MWFB that is an annual sum of $154,000. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value would amount to $15.45 million dollars, that is lost to the Mildura and surrounding communities.

B. The second is the remaining 56,885 hectares. If a hectare of the remaining agricultural land will annually produce agricultural production worth a gross $200 per hectare. For the remaining 56,885 hectares of the proposed the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery that is an annual sum of $11,370,000. Over a period of one hundred years, 2025 to 2125, the economic value would amount to $1.138 billion dollars, that is lost to the Mildura and surrounding communities.
C. Altogether the total economic loss to the Mildura and surrounding communities.
over 100 years comes to $1.153 billion dollars.

The loss of $1.153 billion dollars, when compared to what the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery may contribute to the Mildura and surrounding communities, it is so small it is beyond description. The only description is that the Mildura and surrounding areas are being barefaced, robbed
The proponents of Battery Energy Storage Systems claim that “The intermittent nature of wind and solar resources creates the need for ‘back-up’ capacity to support any supply gaps”.
This statement alone clearly sets out. That by their intermittent and unreliable nature of electricity production, (because of an unreliable supply of ‘weather’ fuel) solar farms and wind farms. Should never be considered as an economic or dependable electricity generator for supplying baseload electricity to a modern electricity grid. To add a BESS to the mix, does not produce one MWh of power and only increases the price to the end user. High prices do as much damage to economies as shortages of supply.
Wind Turbines are extremely inefficient. Wind Turbines are powered by a weather fuel the Wind. At 12am on any day, there is no certainty that the fuel tank will have any fuel available as the weather may be calm. Because they can only produce electricity, when the wind speed is between 12kms/hr and 90kms/hr. The industry reports that Wind Turbines only produce electricity on average for only 35% of their rated capacity or on average for eight hours per day. Wind Turbines can be becalmed for days at a time, producing no electricity. Likewise, if a gale blows for several days no electricity is produced. https://www.energysage.com/about-clean-energy/wind/pros-cons-wind-energy/ In addition, wind farms have other downsides. Such as environmental damage https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2018/10/large-scale-wind-power-has-its-down-side/ and shedding a toxic epoxy resin bisphenol across surrounding land. https://gerardrennick.com.au/is-there-a-toxic-chemical-in-wind-turbine-blades/

Claims made by the Mallee Wind Farm operator is misleading. The claim the Mallee wind farm will power 400,000 homes this needs to be qualified to say that the windfarm may on average power the 400,000 homes for intermittently for the industry average of 9hrs a day. With the 400,000 homes needing at any time to seek a completely different source of power for the remaining 15hrs of each day. The Mallee Wind Farm and Battery farm is completely unsuitable and uneconomic to supply baseload electricity 24/7 for a modern society.
As for connecting the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery into the Grid. Batteries alone can never produce any electricity. Batteries only take in surplus electricity and then release less than they take out. Therefor batteries are inefficient in storing electricity. As a Wind Farm can only on average produce electricity for 9 hours a day. And a Solar Farm has daily supply of fuel for only 26% of the day to generate electricity, the likelihood of there being a surplus to store is very uncertain and does not justify the cost of having the batteries. And will only increases the cost to the consumer.
I believe it would be highly irresponsible to grant a planning permit or allow construction of the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery, as rather than being able to make a positive contribution to the Grid, its inclusion would be totally negative and uneconomic.
Further points of objection.
1. Consisting of so much compact electrification, the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery will create an extreme fire hazard to surrounding areas, particularly on a Total Fire Ban Day with the temperature at 43dC and a NW wind blowing at 50km/hr. Being so tightly packed together it would almost be impossible to contain a fire started within the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery perimeter. The fact that burning Lithium batteries give off a very toxic smoke, fighting the fire would be very dangerous for fire fighters. The surrounding land owners should be very concerned about their welfare.
Putting such a highly flammable amount of electric equipment in such a remote area, without any fire fighting, facilities or city mains supply of water is grossly irresponsible and I believe that the NSW Rural Fire Service should oppose the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery being built as it presents an unacceptable fire risk.

2. If a fire was to occur the risk of soil contamination, would be very great. With unknown consequences.
3. If it should be approved to be built, then it should be mandated that the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery, have a Public Liability policy to cover fire and other possible damage to surrounding areas of at least $500million to $1billion.

4. Unless the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery puts up a restoration bond, there will be nothing stopping the owners from walking away and leaving the local Council and community with a very expensive noxious, Junk heap, that will desecrate the whole area.
For the above reasons I strongly believe the Mallee Wind Farm and Battery should be declared a controlled action and never be allowed to proceed.

i object to the Burrendong Wind Farm project.
the community and wildlife seem to have no say in this and i am acting as a voice in support of them. this project will destroy the landscape and health of nearby residents and wildlife/livestock. They did not ask for this, so they should not have this project forced upon them.
additionally the koala populations in this area needs to be protected. I doubt a resident would be allowed to develop on the hills and build a number of homes or sheds, so why should Ark Energy be allowed to develop wind turbines? There is no reasoning to this logic.

I object to this project. The proposed industrial wind turbines will ruin the beautiful views the local residents and communities have loved for their entire lives. These structures will destroy the landscapes in such a way that they will have negative impacts on tourism and therefore impact local economies. There are also the negative health impacts these industrial wind turbines will have on the nearby residents. Living so close to these is not safe.

Message
Wind Away Wentworth (WAW) is a community group formed to advocate in relation to the wind, battery and solar projects seeking approval in Wentworth Shire.

WAW believes Wentworth Shire is an inappropriate location for wind turbines given Wentworth Shire:

- is a fast growing municipality
- is a tourism hub for South West NSW; and
- features significant natural assets such as the Murray Darling system, wetlands, Mungo National Park and the Mallee Cliffs National.

It has not yet been possible to hold a public meeting for WAW given the timing off the EIS exhibition. WAW seeks to make additional submissions after a public meeting which will be held after the holiday season at end Jan or early Feb 2025.

Yours sincerely

God Be Present To Assist Cessation of renewables On Country Sacred, Mildura to Menindee to Leeton to Burra Country. Wetlands that Water the Murray, Sacred, Yes, Sacred, Yes, Sacred.

Research 3 Bladed Wind Farms please. They Dry the Land aka Soil. Do you. Understand?

Protect Inland Vital Wetlands Murray Darling Basin from 3 Bladed Wind Turbines Now from Now.

First announced in 2022, the Mallee Wind Farm initially proposed to install up to 150 wind turbines. Down to 76 turbines, 280m tip height, yeah right ! Stop Fooling us who Protest 3 Bladed Wind Farms and Know Why, and Know Why. It Says 76 turbines hey ! 76. 76. Not 150. This is In View. 76 turbine proposal.
And to feature a containerised BESS, Dear God! Don’t you Know what batteries do to Catchments, nsw.gov.au? It’s a Reason to Ban them Now from Now, it Is, Is.
Who is Claiming this please :- “a containerised battery energy storage system would offset up to 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually”. Sparks Renewables ? Investigate them thank you nsw.gov.au. What do BESS offer please, and How are they Made, please? Add the Journeys from Raw Materials to from the country they are made to to to and to ports in Australia to Regions Outback Australia. I Do Demand a Moratorium on 3 Bladed Wind Turbines and BESS Immediately. Figures are conjured up, how, gov.au? Needs a Inquiry.
When are you going to Protect Wetlands and Plant Trees En Masse to absorb CO2 instead, gov.au?

Cease and Desist Mallee Wind Farm proposal and Declare the Region Mildura to Menindee to Leeton to Burra a Nationally Significant region, Sacred Murray River Wetlands.

Acen Renewables, has cancelled community information sessions for a proposed wind farm in central Victoria citing unspecified “safety” concerns.
The developer was supposed to be pitching to communities in the Buloke shire in central Victoria
Acen Renewables said: “Due to safety concerns, our planned Corack East Wind community information sessions on 26-27 November and 3 December have had to be postponed…The company declined to provide further details or reasons for its safety concerns, but members of the Wimmera Mallee Alliance Facebook group pointed to a group of protesters outside the session in Wycheproof on Tuesday as the potential cause of the developer’s discomfort….communities along the VNI-West line scared by a badly mishandled consultation on the transmission line…AR is also the proponent of the heavily contested 900 MW Robbins Island and Jim Plains wind projects in north-west Tasmania, which the Bob Brown Foundation and other groups are vigorously opposing.
Do you understand what’s going on, gov.au?
When will you?
You need us.
You do.
Next 8 Generations Do.
How Will you Explain what you are Doing to Our Nation, the Driest Continent on Earth you have NO idea how to manage do you?
You are Ignorant and a Threat to Ours and Next 8 Generations Futures. You Must All Resign, and Immediately, thank you.

These projects are not only detrimental to our health, but also the health of livestock and wildlife. The plastics that come off the blades will slowly destroy the health and lives of all surrounding living things. The toxic run-off from the blades will impact our crops and livestock. As soon as word gets out that our food and fibre has been contaminated within a radius of these structures, that will be the end of the Australian ag industry as nobody will want to purchase from these properties. Why is it acceptable that rural Australia be lumped with these burdens?

These are toxic structures that will destroy not only our land, but the health of our livestock and communities.

These projects will make aerial firefighting impossible in the case of paddock / bush fires, thus endangering lives.

There is too much research coming out now outlining the dangers this infrastructure has on the health and safety of not only humans, but our animals and environment.
Our government must put a stop to this before it is too late.
