If this extension doesn't get the go ahead it will cripple the local economy, affect employees families and futures. It's time the government stepped in and assured the mining industries future. The whole community needs this extension to be granted. The hunter valleys future depends on it!!

Please let this consent go through
We have 1300 people that work bloody long
And hard to make it the best mine in the valley
We can do things better and giving us this consent
Means we can work harder and keeping 1300
People in a job but also try harder to make sure
Our neighbours looked after

Few of my family and friends work for this mine or contract services to it and would absolutely devastate all of them to lose their jobs/ family income

This will impact greatly on my family as a father of three. The ripple effect will be felt throughout the valley. This submission if approved provides a strong and sustainable future for my family and many other families throughout the valley.

Whether or not schools teach it, it will still be truth that kids will learn in the future that all fossil fuels are silly rubbish. Children of each generation being wiser than the most disgusting people in their world is virtually constant in nature. They deserve better from you, and you deserve better for yourself.
The harm that can be avoided now is the greatest opportunity in history. bigger than averting world war 3, 4 and 5 put together or an invasion from space, that much should be obvious to any poor bugger who has the bad luck to be stuck in the middle of the process of dealing with it (like 7+ billion people worldwide). The public servants who can be heroes by stopping wasteful procedures like this mine expansion are so powerful. The future that will support life and strength within people's spirits will come as soon as people are ready. Be ahead of the curve, don't get trampled by the marathon. So yeah, basically, if you want a different outcome, do something different. If you do what you always do, you'll get what you've always got.

Many friends and family will be negatively affected if the extension does not go ahead. If the extension is well planned and the environment is taken into account there would be minimal impact on the people in the local town.

I am an employee of Mount Thorley Warkworth and I am part of the community surrounded by mines, where I live and bring up my family.
I am very worried that my job could be affected if the Warkworth application does not get approved.

The MTW Modification is absolutely vital to the future of my family. Both my husband & I are employed at MTW myself with Skilled and he with Rio Tinto. The MTW Mine provides our entire source of income. We made the massive decision to relocate our family to Singleton about 18 months ago from Western Australia. We spent the best part of 12 years living in remote mining towns on the North West working for Rio Tinto and raising our young family. When it was time to leave, Fly In Fly Out was our only other employment option and that didn't work for our family. So we came here to the Hunter Valley where my husband could carry on his Mining Career, be home with the family everyday, and our kids could have access to education, a variety of sports and other opportunities and experiences that they missed out on living in remote mining communities in the past. If this Modification doesn't happen, what will we do? My husband doesn't have other skills, he is a Miner, that's what he does. We came here to make a good family life for ourselves, and so far all we have been faced with is constant uncertainty about job security & longevity. It is tiring & stressful and creates a life of limbo waiting for an outcome.

I currently work in the valley with thousands of people, I believe if growth & extensions of mines in the valley are not approved everyone will suffer with major job losses, affecting everyone from people who work in the mines to service stations, take away shops, little corner shops not getting the business from miners. EVERYONE WILL LOOSE. Working in the mines I have seen the efforts they go to for the enviroment during mining & rehabilitation

I am a miner / I supply the mining industry and I'm part of the community where I live and bring up my family. There is 1300 miner depending on this expantion. Just a remember for every job lost in the mining industry it effects 2 to 3 job outside the industry. This is virtal to the community, state & country.

The approval for the Mt Thorley Warkworth 350m extention is needed not just for myself and my family but also the local community, buisnesses and eveyone that supports the minesite. I would hope that the approval gets passed by the state government so us as a community can continue to develop.

Mt thorley is not only a job for us employees but it plays a big part in the local community by funding the community with millions of dollars. With out Mt thorley the town of singelton and surrounding areas and local bussines will suffer greatly.

I work for rio tinto and if this is not approved then the lifestyle of thousands of people and business is in jeopardy, not only for the hunter but major cities as well.
Please think about this if you object.

I want extension to succeed for a number of reasons . firstly I have had a career spanning over 24 years which has provided me and my family with a very rewarding and secure lively hood secondly my daughter has worked here for five years and I would like to see her get the same opportunities as I have had I feel the younger generation deserve a chance to enjoy the security and long time employment that the mining industry offers I have other children and grandchildren and would love them to part of this industry.

Its our livelihood, its a good community, as well as the fact that my family and I have purchased a home in the area and are now settled, if the extension was to be denied, theres a very high chance that we would have to relocate.

I support the expansion for the Warkworth Mine in Singleton as it helps support my business In John St Singleton. I have customers which are employed or have family thy are employed at Warkworth and I rely on their income to generate sales in my store.

On a personal level my Mum, Dad and Brother are all employed at Warkworth and if they lost their jobs we would have to leave town and find work elsewhere. This may also result in the closure of my business. We are in desperate need on Warkworth to gain an expansion for the future of both my family and business.
