Had a cost analysis been carried out on this proposed intermodal? If so it should be made public?

Our mayor Ned Mannoun has suggested locating the intermodal close to the Baggerys Creek airport. This makes far more sense than locating it it Moorebank. We do not need or want an industrial development in an area surrounded by homes, and where it also threatens the health of the George's River.
I hope you will move this development to Baggerys Creek where it makes far more economic and environmental sense to be located. We do NOT want it in Moorebank.

The M5,M2,M7, Newbridge Rd, Nuwarra Rd,Heathcote Rd Canterbury Rd. Parramatta Rd, Hume Highway and every other major arterial road in SW Sydney already struggles to handle the present traffic volumes. A simple thing like a minor accident or breakdown sends all the main and minor roads into gridlock.
All of the medical authorities tell us how the deisel fumes are so dangerous to our health and as so cause enormous cancer risks. Are our younger generations to be guinea pigs for such a stupid location of the Intermodal which will put many thousands of heavy vehicles each week on our local roads and driving through residential suburbs.
Our beautiful Georges River has finally been given a chance to get back to the wonderful asset that all of our communities can enjoy and be proud of for generations to come. The Intermodal will be bad for the rebirth of the river.
Please do not treat our families and communities with contempt by going ahead with the Intermodal Project.
The Intermodal needs to be relocated further west and incorporated with the new airport project.

My fiancé and I have just recently received our keys to our dream home that we built. This is supposed to be the most exciting time of our lives. However, it has been dampened by the horrible news of intermodal terminal in Moorebank.
We love the area we chose to live, we have a beautiful park across the road and amazing neighbours. We dream of having our future kids enjoy the park to play in with our neighbours' children. The way my fiancé grew up and the way I always wanted to go up. At the present moment this environment is very likely as our house is in a very peaceful and quiet part of Georges Fair as we cannot hear the traffic. I also chose to build closer to work and it takes both my partner and I less time to travel to and from our work so that when we have kids we can spend more time with them.
This intermodal terminal will mean an increase in noise pollution and a massive increase on traffic on our roads which would mean the peaceful place we live will be noisy and will take a lot longer to travel to work. As this was not bad enough, this intermodal terminal will create more air and water pollution (in the Georges River) which could be damaging for the health of our future children and of all the children that already live in the area and the already busy M5 will be impossible to travel on as the traffic will increase exponentially!
It is extremely disappointing that the NSW Government have not considered the residents of Moorebank in their plans. The area has 1000 homes that are built or in the process of being built Georges Fair estate. It is not an industrial area anymore. It is a residential area that is full of many families who would like to live in a safe and peaceful area.
There has been no explanation as to why this terminal needs to be built. In March 2 new 30 million dollar cranes were launched at the existing freight terminal in Chullora which will double the number of containers arriving from Botany Bay by shuttle train (not on the road). Mike Baird said that this would meet all our freight needs. So why do we need this intermodal terminal?
Please reconsider this ridiculous idea. Liverpool is trying to build a new community for the new residents that have come to the area, especially the thousands of people that built in Georges Fair. Think about all the families that have built their dream home. We do not deserve this.

The animal nature river it's so beautiful and peaceful you have no right to ruin this
I SAY NO
This community has grown so much. It is so full of young families and so many people starting out in life. We all love these areas and need to keep it peaceful and beautiful not destroy it.
Another important factor is there is beautiful wildlife and nature that is going to be ruined from these changes.
I look out every day on the trees animal river etc people / families walking along riding bikes just such a beautiful area.
For so many reasons THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN OR RUIN THESE THINGS
I say NO, it's our area we live in too and we don't want it

* The Moorebank intermodal will place more traffic on the already congested road network. 10,000 heavy vehicles per day will need to access and leave the terminal utilising the M5 and local roads, 5,000 cars per day will need to access the site.
* The Moorebank intermodal will not be an economically viable investment for the Federal Government and the state of New South Wales. The proposal should be relocated to Badgerys Creek in order to reduce supply-chain costs and cater for future urban growth.
Traffic
* The proposal will move the congestion from Port Botany to Moorebank, which is already congested;
* The modelling does not cater for the predicted growth of the region;
* The intersections and road network are already congested. The proposal will increase traffic delays;
* Trucks `weaving' onto and off the M5 between the Moorebank and Hume Highway interchanges will cause accidents and present a danger to me and my family; and
* Trucks parking and taking short cuts through the nearby streets will make the area unsafe for me, my family and friends.
Noise
There is no noise wall along the rail corridor along the Georges River, so noise will carry, particularly at night;
* There will be no way to mitigate noise from the unloading/loading and movement of containers within the terminal, especially for residents living within 400 metres of the site;
* There will be no way to mitigate noise from the breaking and shunting of trains which will need to happen on site;
* There will be wheel squeal due to the tight radius curves needed for trains to enter and exit the site; this will keep local residents awake at night; and
* Residents up to 3km from Port Botany are kept awake at night, I don't want this for my family.
Air quality
* There will be increased diesel fumes in the community generated from locomotives, heavy vehicles and other heavy equipment used on site. These fumes are carcinogenic;
* Me, my family and friends will develop cancer or other health problems from the increased diesel fumes;
* South West Sydney is already heavily polluted due to the topography of the area;
* There will be dust and odour generated from this site, particularly during the construction period.
Health
* The intermodal in this area will make me and my family sick; and
* I believe even one person having to use a puffer on one occasion as a result of this proposal is not acceptable.
* The government shouldn't plan industrial development in a residential area.
Heritage
* We have a strong military history in this area and we are proud of our heritage. Removal of heritage features from the site will break ties for the community.
Location
* The site is surrounded by residential development and Defence, this site should never have been selected due to the young families who have settled in this area;
* This area is a quiet, leafy suburb with strong community connections,
* This area is where we train and house our Defence personnel that protect us and our country.
* This development will be detrimental to the area and depreciate its value; and
* Other sites are preferable, such as Badgerys Creek or Eastern Creek which does not have a residential development nearby and is also the location that the majority of freight will end up.
Contamination
* The unloading of imported containers in this area will have the potential to destroy native flora and fauna; and
* The unloading of imported containers in this area will have the potential to destroy the Georges River.
MICL and SIMTA Proposals
* There has been a lot of confusion around the fact that two proposals have been proposed for one area (SIMTA and MICL).
* The cumulative impacts of the two proposals have not been adequately explained or addressed by the proposals; and
* There is confusion as to the total traffic generated from the two proposals, as the modelling for each is different.
I support strategic planning and good land use. The intermodal development should be moved to a non-residential area, like Badgerys Creek.
Please reject this proposal on the grounds that it is not in the public interest with other better suited sites available.

We have been residents of Moorebank for the past 15 years and there are many who have lived all their life in Moorebank. We love our Moorebank and DO NOT AGREE to this Freight Terminal.
Isn't it just a simple common sense to construct this away from a residential area, where people will not be affected by everyday congestion, pollution & god knows how many sickness it will get to our community in future.
As is, the M5 Motorway is still be so congested, even after having more lanes, and with these trucks ( and we not talking 2 or 3 trucks).. will drastically affect everyone who are travelling on M5 to get to work daily. Just because of this stupid Terminal, why should a resident be affected or have to wake up earlier then now to beat these trucks on the roads (But hey, In saying this, this operation will be 24 hours a day and 7 days a week so no win win for the commuters). Plus each time you are on M5, there will be big truck either right in front or behind your vehicle.
This terminal will be operating 24 hours, 7 days a week, therefore our Moorebank will just be a nitemare to live.
WE DO NOT WANT THIS CONSTRUCTION TO GO AHEAD.

I live at Hoxton Park and believe this would just make congestion on the M5 even worse.
If this was proposed already back when M5 was being widened why not add another Lane or Two for the extra traffic.

- Increased trucks on Heathcote Rd taking containers from the Intermodal through residential roads
- Increased congestion and pollution from an additional 10,000+ trucks on the M5 daily
- Ongoing noise and pollution from the 24 hour operation of the intermodal site
- Disruption to residents and our neighbourhoods
- Potential pollution from the unit to the Georges River
- A inept decision from Government members who would not want this anywhere near their neighourhoods
