I strongly support the application and urge planners to stop listening to a small group of incredibly loud NIMBYs.

The incredible detail in the NBP Performance Report #5 illustrates the seriousness of the commitment of NBP to run and maintain a world-class venue, whilst respecting all stakeholders.

Please consider a plan to make cultural events a permanent fixture at the site. While both major cities either side (BNE & SYD) fall behind in harbouring music, art & culture this is a much needed move in the Byron Shire.

As both a patron and supporter of Splendour in the Grass music festival for the last 7 years, it is evident that a `permanent home' would greatly increase the Festival(s) prosperity, leaving the conversation open to expand its acts further and increase it's size to allow for more patrons.
This would in-turn create the opportunity for various other music, art and culture inspired events and workshops to utilise the space that is the North Byron Parklands, whilst growing the economy of both Byron Bay and the surrounding towns.

I have witnessed first-hand the positive impact of this festival site, both as a concert-goer and resident of the area.
The Byron shire remains a rich cultural hub, but will only thrive as such with opportunities via sites such as the Parklands area. Considering the amount of development in the Byron shire recently that could be regarded as solely commerce-driven, the Parklands site is an asset to the area and should remain in its current form, with current allowances in-tact.
Please allow this site to flourish (to its full potential) as an ongoing festival location in the Byron shire. I have witnessed only positive outcomes relating to cultural enhancement, employment opportunities and tourism from this site.
The Byron shire remains on the map as a musical hotspot for a reason, if these lifelines are cut and only other (less culturally rich) developments proceed, we will end up with another Gold Coast - and no one wants that.
