I object to the government's proposal to remove Willow Grove from Phillip Street.

I remember walking past as a very small child and being mesmerised by this house. I remember asking my dad questions about the house.... who built it?, who lived there? etc and over the past 35 years since I was a small child I have continued to walk past this beautiful house and ask myself questions about the history of this house. The reason I find this house so mesmerising, charming, intriguing etc is because there are not many such houses left.
I feel sadness as I watch every last piece of history in Parramatta flattened to give way to soulless concrete buildings without any character or charm.

Please leave Willow Grove so that our future children will be able to ponder our history as they walk past this magnificent house.

I object to the destruction of Willow Grove at Parramatta. It is inconceivable that this significant historical building should be demolished especially for another museum. Sydney does not have as rich a historical legacy as it should have and there are not unlimited buildings to save. Shame on you if this proceeds.

I write to you to tell you of my objection to the demolition of Willow Grove in Parramatta.

Parramatta holds substantial historical significance and every effort should be made to preserve this beautiful building which has been standing for 140 years.

The National Trust does not support the proposal to relocate the building and nor do the people of Parramatta.

Please do not allow this to proceed.

I object .to the destruction of our history if you demolish / move Willowgrove ...

We have very limited historic buildings in our city - Parramatta - the cradle city of Australia’s colonial settlement.

So much has been lost and it’s irreplaceable.

Please reconsider

I object to another piece of our very limited European history being destroyed. You can adapt the bottom floors of one of the hundreds of high rise buildings being built around Sydney!
Please consider the bigger and longer term picture.

I would like to object to the demolition of Willow Grove, as a previous owner of the property our family purchased the property from the government and restored Willow Grove to its current state, our family suffered financially from the heritage restrictions and limitations with the property during the ownership and sold it at a loss.

I object to the removal, relocator or demolition of Willow Grove in Parramatta.... The proposal to relocate and rebuild is ludicrous in the extreme. Any person with a little Common sense can see that building the Museum in the new location is the only sensible solution. STOP being dictated or swayed by the developers. Spend time who is gaining from this and investigate who is colluding with the Developers. Public sentiment is clear and you are spending Pulic Monies.

Dear DPIE,

I wish to add my objection to the removal of the Willow Grove heritage building at Phillip St Parramatta.
In my opinion, design of the Western Sydney Powerhouse Museum should be either built around the existing heritage or built elsewhere.

Yours sincerely,
Ross

I object to planned disassembly and relocation of the Willow Grove house to a site in North Parramatta
Furthermore my assessment of your proposal to build a museum (sister to the Powerhouse museum on the site is that this is an appallingly planned proposal.
I have worked in the Parramatta environ for 40 years and I 6 generations of my family have lived in Parramatta since 1818,

I work in the Cumberland Hospital precinct and I think that there are multiple sites which might be considered for a Cultural Museum

I object to the villa Willowgrove being demolished or moved! Parramatta has lost so many heritage buildings already. The museum plan could be changed to incorporate this lovely building and the terraces nearby

Dear Mr Jennejohn
I OBJECT to WILLOW GROVE Villa being moved.
I think it would be a deletion of AUstralian History and it should be kept where it is.
I don;t live in Sydney, but I will surely visit WILLOW GROVE in my travels and have a picnic near by.
I Imagine it s a beautiful site.
I Imagine there are lots and have been thousands of School excursions to Willow Grove and lots of wonderful memories for the children and teachers.
It's nice to go somewhere that is Historically important to AUstralia and feel the importance of the site.
I think the Villa is much more important than the development that has been planned.
Kindest regards

Dear Sir, Please note my strenuous objectIon to the proposed demolition of Willow Grove - which is one of the few remaining remnants of Parramatta’s history still intact in the CBD.

It is only through the visible and tangible existence of historical buildings that new generations can imagine what was there before. The Parramatta river precinct has so much significance to the Australian settlement past and identity that the few remaining links must not be erased. The people of Parramatta and all Australians deserve to know how significant and important this area is - their sense of place depends upon it and new buildings, however innovative, cannot possibly convey this.

Please make your decision with these issues in mind as no one else will have this chance again. Willow Grove has a past and deserves a future. It doesn’t have to be the best example of an historic building to warrant saving. The fact that it has such a long past however gives it a significance that cannot be retained or recognised or remembered once it is gone. Respect for the past is the responsibility of us all, it’s how we learn. It makes us human and gives our community a sense of identity and of belonging to something greater than ourselves.

We have entrusted people such as you to make these vital decisions for us.
Please use your power wisely.

I object ....to the demolition of the historic Willowgrove.
A good town planner would allow for the old and culturally significant and the new.
I guess that’s why people think Australians are backward, and have no culture.
Shame on you if you pull it down,

Dear Minister,

Please do not move Willow Grove. It will be destroyed in the process.

Its location is part of its history.

It belongs to the people, not politicians.

I object to moving precious Willowood.
Powerhouse Museum is (rightfully) staying in Ultimo. Parramatta needs to work out what sort of cultural institution is needed in & for Parramatta.
Willowood is an irreplaceable part or Parramatta’s heritage. Bring it to life in its current location. Make Parramatta unique by keeping it’s beautiful buildings.

I object to the removal of Willow Grove. This government has no respect for the heritage of this country, proving over & over again that power & winning the next election are their only objectives. Truth & integrity have been lost. There is a big difference between “I did nothing wrong” & “it’s not illegal” to doing the right thing. No wonder there is no longer any respect for this premier. For once, Premier, do the right thing & keep your hands off Willow Grove.
