I support it as I work for Whitehaven already and would like an
opportunity to work at another one of their projects

I support the Whitehaven proposal because of the benefits that regional
investment, jobs and ongoing provision of goods and services will
deliver to the local community.

it will create jobs in the community and support Vickery project
although i feel that local people should get preference for employment
and not people who reside out of the Gunnedah basin.This will ensure
that the local towns and businesses will economically benefit from the
project.

Being born and bred in Gunnedah the opportunities mining has presented to
me and my family have been enormous. I hope this project can go ahead
so more locals, like myself can benefit from these opportunities and
not have to relocate to find work.

to be a positive for the liocal area with strong values in regards to

It is time to end this countries obsession with propagating the dirty

We believe the Vickery project is an important project for the gunnedah
region. Whitehaven takes environmental issues seriously and we believe
this project can be undertaken without serious environmental impacts.
The employment opportunities, contractor opportunities and overall
financial benefit to the region are immense and must be taken into
consideration. This is even more important during years of drought
where other industries decline in the region. Once again we fully
support this project.

I write in strong support of the Vickery Extension Project. This project
will provide strong economic growth not only in the immediate Gunnedah
community but throughout the entire Northwest. I believe this project
is critical to the long-term sustainment of the local economy.
The Vickery project means strong employment growth with a promise to

Coal is the leading source of energy on planet earth. It has allowed
humanity to experience the highest standard of living which has ever
been known. It powers our houses and melts iron into steel, without
which we would still be in the bronze age. We live in an era where
coal fired plants are cleaner than ever, and the technology is still
improving. To power more advanced coal plants, clean black thermal
coal is required. Whitehaven is Australia's premier producer of high
quality, clean thermal coal and this coal is used to power countries
as far away as Japan. The Vickery Project represents an opportunity
for Australia to continue to be a premier producer of clean thermal
coal. It would also provide jobs to hundreds of people in rural NSW.
At a time when jobs are so hard to find it would be irresponsible and
downright destructive to the economy to not allow this project to
proceed.
