Totally support this project! This is added investment in a growing
economy. Mining and related industries brought us to Gunnedah and it
has been absolutely brilliant watching it grow. This project will be
an added opportunity for the people of the North West to gain
employment, live locally, and support local business.

We have dealt with the Whitehaven group's Werris Creek, Gunnedah,
Boggabri and Baan Baa sites for many years and in that time have seen
the financial stimulus the mines have given to those areas.

The region needs the ongoing investment of Whitehaven especially when
we look at the ongoing impact of drought on our region.

We also need the financial stability of such projects and companies
such as Whitehaven.

I believe that projects such as Vickery should go ahead. Australia has a
distinct competitive advantage in providing high quality coal to fuel
growing Asian demand. I also believe that projects like this are
important for the economic welfare of the local community

As a resident of Gunnedah for the last 4 years, mining has afforded us
great opportunities and lifestyle for bringing up our family.
I see the Vickery project as a bonus for our town, region and state in
providing great careers for our young people and residents, royalties
to fund state expenses, cheap energy for the world and minimise global
carbon emissions by burning lower ash coal.
The Vickery project will bring more people to the area which will
create more recreational/educational activities (arts, sport).
I have full confidence that Whitehaven will continue to support local
business and indigineous groups.

Advitech Group is a science and technology based group of companies
assisting Whitehaven Coal with their environmental compliance needs.
We find that professionally run companies such as Whitehaven, in
achieving high environmental standards, help us to extend our
capabilities to monitor outcomes of their activities. In this way the
benefits flow on to the rest of our customers and thus the community
as a whole.
We need Whitehaven to be financially successful and to have an
extended mining campaign.

More jobs and a better economy for a regional centre that was devoid of
jobs and people ten years ago.
