Launch of the NSW Government Property Index

06 May 2021

News

The Digital Transformation, Performance and Reporting team has been working with NSW Housing and Property Group to develop the Government Property Index, a free online service that provides data on all government-owned properties across NSW.

This exciting digital asset was launched on 5 May 2021 as part of the NSW Government’s new Housing 2041 strategy.

Visitors to the Government Property Index, hosted on the NSW Planning Portal, can search by region to review a list of all government properties in that area. A digital map provides additional information pertaining to each property, such as zoning details.

The NSW Government is using this service to facilitate its Temporary Supportive Accommodation (TCA) initiative. The service will also support the Public Proposal Process, enabling industry to put forward innovative proposals for that land to improve utilisation and benefits for local communities.

Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey said the Housing 2041 strategy and an initial two-year action plan will deliver improved outcomes immediately and into the future by focusing on housing supply, diversity, affordability and resilience.

She announced the changes in a media release on 5 May 2021.
